Kate Middleton and Prince William's Los Angeles, California Plans!
Hey there, I'm Lauren. Kate Middleton and Prince William are off to LA today after a whirlwind tour of Canada, and we're sharing their California plans ‹ including which big stars they'll be meeting ‹ in today's Sizzling Buzz Rush.
Kate Middleton and Prince William are going Hollywood! The royal couple spent their last full day in Canada yesterday with a final stop in Calgary. Kate wore a yellow Jenny Packham dress as she said hello to a young fan, and later on, she and William put on cowboy hats for a rodeo.
But starting today, the newlyweds are trading in Canada for California.
Kate and Will are expected to touch down in LA this afternoon, where they'll be greeted by the governor, Jerry Brown, before heading to an event at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, followed by a reception in the evening at the British consul-general's home, which is also where
they're rumored to be staying during their trip. TresSugar editor Annie Scudder has the details on where they'll be ‹ and what stars they'll be seeing.
Editor: "We've been waiting months for Kate and William's visit to the US and it's finally here. Even though the trip is mainly business for the couple, they still have a few fun events planned. William is playing in a charity polo match in Santa Barbara tomorrow, but I think it's tomorrow
night's BAFTA showcase that most people are excited to see."
The event is being held at the Belasco Theatre in downtown LA, where the British Academy of Film and Television Arts will be recognizing 42 rising stars ‹ though most of the buzz surrounding the event has been not on the honorees, but rather, on the A-list guest list.
Editor: "Supposedly this is the hot ticket in town this weekend for celebrities, and the guest list is growing by the day. Rumor is Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Ryan Reynolds, and more celebrities will be showing up to rub elbows with Kate and Will, which just goes to prove that Hollywood is as smitten with the royals as we are. In fact, Tom attended the state banquet at Buckingham Palace back in May, so he's already met the queen."
All eyes will be on Kate to see what she wears for the black tie event, though some are speculating that it's this dress that was seen being carried onto the royal plane on Wednesday.
Editor: "This dress looks a lot like the Jenny Packham one that Kate wore to the ARK dinner last month. Even though she's been wearing a ton of different looks on her North America trip with William, I think this is the big one that everybody's going to be watching for."
After Saturday night's glitzy affair, William and Kate will get back down to business on Sunday by meeting with an African wildlife conservation group and with teens at Inner-City Arts near Skid Row, an area of LA known for housing more than 4,000 homeless people. They depart LAX for
England on Sunday evening.
