The Walking Dead star explains why their character had to die in latest dramatic episode: Courtesy Digital Spy

Warning: This article contains MAJOR spoilers for The Walking Dead season 8 episode 15 'Worth'. You have been warned.

The all-out war claimed another casualty in the penultimate episode of The Walking Deadseason eight, as Negan showed who's boss.

In a dramatic episode, the Saviors leader killed his unpredictable lieutenant Simon in a one-versus-one, no weapons fight to the death to determine the group's leadership.

Steven Ogg, who played Simon for two seasons, said that despite his character undermining Negan's orders on multiple occasions (including what happened at Oceanside), he was actually showing respect to Negan by having their brutal brawl.

To Simon, he had been growing disillusioned with Negan's leadership and wanted to take action.
A few episodes ago, for example, Simon took control of the Saviors group attacking Hilltop rather than searching for Negan, who was in danger.

"I don't think it's necessarily like a power thing with Simon or like he's got to take over from Negan," Ogg explained. "I don't think it was that. It's just he stepped up and decided to do things his way."
"They had tried with Negan all these things and nothing had happened.

"It wasn't about going against Negan so much as just doing his own thing, and going back and asking for forgiveness."
Back in August, Ogg – promoting the eighth season – hinted that people would die and the herd would be 'thinned'. It turns out that he was also teasing his own character's death!

When was Carl Grimes bitten on The Walking Dead and did he die in season 8 episode 8? Courtesy THE SUN UK

THE SUN UK REVEALSWhen was Carl Grimes bitten on The Walking Dead and did he die in season 8 episode 8? Courtesy THE SUN UK

Find out what happens to this beloved original character after the show aired it's mid-season finale

But will he die? And what else do we know about this latest storyline – here’s what we know…

When was Carl Grimes bitten on The Walking Dead?

The closing moments of series eight’s midseason finale (epsiode 8) blew a hole right through one of the most important relationships in the AMC zombie drama – spelling curtains for yet another original character.
It seems the hit programme is now changed forever, having made one of the biggest deviations from the comic book series to date.
The end of the episode saw Carl Grimes – the teen son of the show’s protagonist Rick – revealing that he had been bitten by a Walker and was doomed to die.
The plucky young character, who has until now escaped death numerous times and lost his eye in the fight to survive, lives much longer in the book series.

Will Carl die on The Walking Dead?

Viewers can expect to see Carl perish in the next episode, shown in 2018 – though some avid fans of the show feel the death was unwarranted.
Carl is one of the five original characters left on the show, and the twist will have an enormous effect on the central character Rick, who has already suffered so much.
Showrunner Scott Gimple’s left Andrew Lincoln, the actor who plays Rick, flabbergasted when he told him he’d be losing his fictional son.
Andrew told Entertainment Weekly: “I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know what to say.
“I never saw it coming because I always thought that the kid would be the future, and that was the whole point of this. Everybody was reeling from it and continue to reel from it.”
Sad as he was, Andrew praised the performance of 18-year-old actor Chandler Riggs – who has played Carl since 2010.
He said: “It was the perfect way for him to leave with doing some of the finest work that I’ve ever seen him do.”
“When someone from the old guard goes, there’s a part of you that goes with them,” Andrew added.

What is next for Chandler Riggs who plays Carl?

Fans had been speculating that Chandler was set to leave the show after he announced last month that he was heading off to university.
However, the youngster is taking a gap year before heading to Auburn – and even took to mocking fans who claimed he’d be leaving the show.
Talking after the latest episode aired, Chandler insisted that it “wasn’t [his] decision” to leave the show and it was all “story-related”.
He added: “I didn’t expect for Carl to ever get killed off. But it serves a good purpose in the story. There’s still a little more left in Carl’s story and that impacts Rick, Michonne and everyone.
“Although Carl’s story is coming to an end it’s not over yet,” he explained.

Let's Talk The Walking Dead Season Premiere and the War to Come : Courtesy - Gizmodo

War! The Republic is crumbling under attacks by the ruthless Sith Lord, Count—wait a minute. Wrong war. Instead, after two full seasons of build-up, Rick and Negan have finally begun their long-awaited match-up, and tonight, the first battle was fought.

It’s clear that Rick won tonight’s battle, but those shots of him crying over two fresh graves imply it will end up a pyrrhic victory at best. I’ll talk more about it in my recap tomorrow morning, but I think I liked this—it definitely took its time, but I didn’t feel like it was killing time to pad out the episode, which is a marked improvement. Give your thoughts and theories in the comments—especially regarding Old Man Rick—but also including how screwed you think Gabriel is. My guess: Very!

The Walking Dead needs to learn from Game of Thrones’ successes

As we all love our fav t.v series The walking dead But also we have afraid that our fav show is losing it's viewers and rating . We are All blaming Negan for that well i'm in line of those who thinks that negan is the one major factor of our fav show's downfall . here i want to give you a little pic from past about the governor he helped tv show to grow and make it more interesting  then the Game of thrones. Well here i found an interesting post on Internet from Polygon's Author RogueWatson

Midway through its third season, Lost was in a bit of a crisis. Its bulky seasons were proving unsustainable, and the show spent too much time focusing on minor characters or stirring up pointless side plots. It felt like it was being drawn out for far too long.

Showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse listened. They declared the sixth season would be the series’ last. They tightened the number of episodes in each season to around 15 and focused on providing answers to ongoing mysteries. Ratings stabilized, and now Lost is widely considered a pinnacle of modern story-telling in television.

The Walking Dead is currently experiencing its Lost season three moment. The good news is, though, there's still time to fix it. In its translation from a black and white comic book series to television sensation, The Walking Dead's biggest hurdle hasn't been violence, gore or characters. It's pacing.

The main group spent the entirety of the second season at Hershel's farm, which quickly wore out its welcome as our heroes mostly just argued with each other. The prison was a highly anticipated next stop, but once again the show failed to capitalize on its momentum with the Governor. The battle for the prison was drawn out over a season and a half — including that horrible two episode stint when the Governor had to find an entirely new group of people to attack the prison with.

In later seasons the show divided our heroes into multiple sub-groups, each with their own little adventures, much like Lost did. Sometimes this lead to some outstanding character moments, like Carol having to kill a psychotic kid-murderer out of mercy in the fourth season.

More often than not, however, it bored us with stupid side treks, like Abraham finding a bazooka or Daryl meeting Dwight on the road in the sixth season and Beth's entire ordeal at the hospital in the fifth. We're just spinning our wheels until the next finale, when the plot is allowed to move forward again.

This season has been the most egregious of all. The premiere debuted to record ratings based entirely on a bullshit, manipulative cliffhanger. And it milked that moment for the entire premiere. Since then we've been helplessly shuttled around as our group splintered off into new and old locations.

The comic rarely split our group up, and when it did, it almost exclusively kept us with Rick Grimes. He was our anchor in an increasingly volatile world where our favorite characters, years in the making, would suddenly be ripped away. Yet the show demanded we focus our gaze on minor characters in odd situations. This is fine for an episode or two, but when it becomes the majority of your season, you have a problem.

In its seventh season, The Walking Dead is making the awkward transition into a wider universe that includes multiple communities and a villain that commands a veritable army at his disposal. These one-off character-building episodes feel like a giant waste of time compared to the ongoing plot and action surrounding all our characters.

It’s through Game of Thrones that we can find the solution to our pacing issues. Game of Thrones includes one of the largest ensemble casts in television; a giant Tolkein-esque fantasy world with a hefty amount of lore and multiple plot arcs that have been around for years. Yet Game of Thrones remains one of the best shows on television in terms of pacing.

The big advantage is that Game of Thrones has only 10 episodes per season. You cannot waste any time with filler one-offs. The only time Game of Thrones forces us into a single area for an entire episode is when something big is happening, like a climactic battles. It's telling that The Walking Dead's best season is still its first, when it only had six episodes instead of the now standard 16.

Game of Thrones also has an official end point. Like The Walking Dead, its source material isn't finished. But writer George R.R. Martin has worked with the show runners in providing material beyond his notoriously delayed final books.

The Walking Dead, meanwhile, seems to be taking the opposite approach. Writer Robert Kirkman doesn't see himself ending the series anytime soon, and said many times that he plans on doing at least 300 issues. In 2014, executive producer David Alpert said he was more than willing to go to season 10 and beyond.

Right now in the show's timeline we're around volume 18 of the comics, or issues #103-108. That's 100 issues in a little over six seasons. The comic is currently on issue 160. That's well beyond the war with Negan and after a two-year time jump with an expanding world with new allies and threats.

At its current pace, the show would need at least four more seasons to catch up to where the comic is now. The Walking Dead is treading in unknown waters here. A serialized action-drama lasting this long is unprecedented.

Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley Joins 'The Originals' Cast?

The outlet further claimed that Somerhalder may end up joining the cast of The Originals after The Vampire Diaries. Julie Plec said that some of the TVD characters could crossover with The Originals every now and then. Zap2It, however, predicted that Somerhalder may not be too keen on moving over to the spinoff after TVD

They pointed out that the actor decided to leave the series long before they announced its cancellation, which could mean that he is ready to move on from playing Damon Salvatore.

Paul Wesley, on the other hand, might be interested in the crossover. After all his character, Stefan Salvatore has already had a crossover once.

Even without the Salvatore brothers, The CW president Mark Pedowitz believed that The Originals could “live very well on its own,” hinting that the series could be renewed for another season.
Tell us! Do you want to see Ian Somerhalder or Paul Wesley on The Originals? Sound off in the comments below.

'The Originals' Season 4 Spoilers, Summer Fontana to Portray Grown-Up Hope

When "The Originals" come back a fourth season, there will be a five-year time jump from when it ended in Season 3. It will then reveal an all grown-up Hope to be played by Summer Fontana.
A New Hope
Fontana, who has been credited for a movie role in "Basic Witches," will be joining the cast in Season 4. In fact, she began filming earlier this week. In the series, there is a possibility that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) may not recognize her own daughter after five years since she will be all grown-up and is said to be a powerful witch.
"The Originals" has been with CW Network for three seasons. The show is a US horror story and fantasy that chronicles the lives of a vampire family. The original vampires are Klaus, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) who returned to Orleans and regained control of the city.
A century ago, their father ousted them with the help of his evil protégé. They have to prevent the war between supernatural beings and humans in order to save the city that they have built a long time ago. They also have to facilitate the safety of Klaus' heir.
The Original Vampires
The original vampires have a lot to do in New Orleans since they have a lot of unfinished business. This might mean that they need to have more time and may extend to more centuries in order to keep the place safe.
Now with the fourth season coming up, a new story unfolds as Klaus' daughter Hope will not be a baby anymore. It gives fans more reasons to look forward to what's next.
In a recent report, Phoebe Tonkin, who portrays Hayley Marshall in the series, stated that she is excited as to what personality Hope will show in the fourth season. She also added that Hope got a lot of personalities from Klaus even though they were not together for five long years. She also stated her excitement in seeing Klaus' personality in Hope who will grow up to be a powerful witch.

“Give ‘Em Hell Kid”, depicting new twist in ‘The Originals’

“Give ‘Em Hell Kid,” While sometimes shows tend to end their seasons with the culmination of everything that came in the weeks beforehand, we almost wonder with “The Originals” if they are choosing to use the end of season 3 as a means to set up more of the story for season 4. Based on the synopsis below for next week’s new episode entitled “Give ‘Em Hell Kid,” there are signs certainly suggesting that a new enemy is coming surprising late in the season.

Is Game of Thrones' Jon Snow Alive or Dead? Maisie Williams Says "It's a Great Twist" (Eonline)

Soon you will officially know the fate ofGame of Thrones' Jon Snow. Soon. Until then, you're still allowed to wildly speculate regarding his alive/dead status...but all evidence points to alive. Just wanted to point that out. Even more evidence emerged (or did it) when Maisie Williams hit the red carpet for the London Film Critics' Circle Awards (where she won the Young British/Irish Performer of the Year award for her role in The Falling).
When asked about Jon Snow's "death" (you know, because he's probably not dead), Williams said, "It was awful. It was awful. Everyone was so sad about it, and I feel so mean because I speak to people and they're all like, 'Jon Snow, is he back?' And it's really heartbreaking because people are like, 'Yeah, but he's coming back though?' It's a great twist, but I can't say he's going to be alive."
And then she made a grimace sort of face.

Here's what's happened so far: Jon Snow died. Then Kit Harington said he was done. Everybody said he was done. Harington was spotted on set. Everybody still maintained he was done. HBO started using Harington's image to promote the upcoming sixth season in both posters and video. And here we are.
E! News caught up with Emilia Clarke at HBO's Golden Globes party, and of course she was tight-lipped about the fate of Mr. Snow. However, she did give E!'s Will Marfuggi this nugget about season six: "I really can't say much apart from you'll see the biggest moments on television that have ever existed," she teased.
Game of Thrones season six and "the biggest moments on television that have ever existed" premieres Sunday, April 24, at 9 p.m. on HBO.
