AMC says hell no, it's not letting The Walking Dead end - Courtesy: News.Avclub

The universe of ravenous zombie zeitgeist devourer The Walking Dead got a major shock a few weeks ago, when creator Robert Kirkman announced that he was abruptly (or as abrupt as an 193-issue comic can be) bringing his long-running series to an end. When asked if the TV series based on Kirkman’s comics might be facing a similar bow anytime soon, AMC reportedly chuckled to itself, rolled its eyes, and politely suggested that everyone asking was out of their goddamn minds.

“I’m not saying the show will go 20 seasons, but I’m not saying it won’t,” president of network programming David Madden told journalists when asked about the possibility, noting that the show has long since moved away from its source material, and also, what the hell is wrong with you people, because this thing still makes so much fucking money. “Once Game of Thrones is technically off the air,” Madden added, “It’s the No. 2 show on TV. You don’t sneeze at it being No. 2 out of the three billion shows that are on TV.”

Indeed, while the show is no longer the unstoppable ratings juggernaut that it once was—having reported some of its least-watched premieres and finales to date over the last few years—it does maintain a certain un-rot-able consistency, even in the face of big changes like the departure of series star Andrew Lincoln during the most recent season. “The episode that followed his departure dropped 1 percent from the previous episode,” Madden noted, presumably in the voice of someone now responsible for a TV show that people will apparently watch regardless of who’s in it. (And also Norman Reedus.)

The Walking Dead confirmed its latest casting shake-up at Comic-Con recently, with Danai Gurira reiterating that she’d be taking her katana and going home sometime during the show’s upcoming 10th season. Which will be sad, but hey, there will still be zombies, and AMC is happy to continue to tap into our apparently unceasing hunger for those.

Miley Cyrus Will Perform at the 2019 MTV VMAs, "There's "No F--kin Way"

She is not coming. To the stage of the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards that is.

The nominations for the annual VMAs were announced earlier this week and, much to the dismay of her fans, Miley Cyrus—and Ashley O—didn't nab a single nod. (ICYMI, Taylor Swiftand Ariana Grande snagged the most nominations, with 10 each, followed by Billie Eilish and Lili Nas X.)

"Guess I'm not watching the VMAs this year," one Smiler quipped on Instagram. "Unless Miley performs." Well, needless to say, this fan will definitely not be tuning in. As the "Mother's Daughter" singer responded, "No f--kin way."

But wait, there's more. "They care more about a f—king green screen than a message to the world," snapped another user. "Nominate anyone but at least do not use the image of Miley to promote their damn prizes @vmas and #SheIsComing #Peace."

To which Cyrus wrote back saying, "Exactly."

Back in 2013, Cyrus made waves with her tongue-wagging, provocative performance at the award show. Clad in a teddy bear onesie (because why not?), the then 20-year-old twerked on Robin Thicke, grabbed her crotch then stripped down to a nude, latex bikini.

"It was a strategic hot mess," she later explained of the controversial, endlessly talked about antics. "If I wanted a raunchy sex show, I wouldn't have been dressed as a damned bear."

"I just needed to let go of the past in a way," the former Disney darling, married to Liam Hemsworth, continued. "So I felt like I could be the bad bitch I am."

She has certainly dropped that squeaky clean image to become unapologetically herself.

More recently, while chatting with Elle for their August cover, the Black Mirror star revealed she's finally her most confident self.

"At this time of my life, I feel the most powerful I've ever felt," she admitted. "I like the way being sexual makes me feel, but I'm never performing for men. They shouldn't compliment themselves to think that the decisions I'm making in my career would have anything to do with them getting pleasure. I don't think that because some guy thinks I'm hot he's going to buy my record. It doesn't help me.
"

The MTV VMAs, hosted by comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, will air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on August 26.

Confused and Conflicted As Ever! It's The Bachelorette Finale and Hannah Brown Is As Concerned

What does any young adult do when they're stuck in a pickle? They go to their parents. In The Bachelorette star Hannah Brown's case, her parents go to her while she's faced with a very big decision in Greece.

"I think you thought you were going to be at one place, and you're confused. I'm confused for you," Hannah's mom Susanne says in the exclusive preview above. "So, I'm going to ask you some questions that you're not going to like today. Ultimately this is your decision, but…"

"No, I want to know, but…" Hannah says. "I knew this was freakin' going to happen."

Susanne wants her daughter to really be sure of herself going into this potentially life-changing decision. "You got to think about these things. This is it, so I'm telling you what I see as a mom," she says.

"It makes it really hard because now I'm confused. I don't want to make the wrong decision," Hannah says.

And that's where things get emotional.

"I want somebody that will take…that will love you like I know you should be loved," Hannah's mom cries.

It's all something Hannah's very well aware of.

"I am concerned, I am confused and conflicted," the reality star says. "No matter how much I want to make this my decision, I want them to see what I see."
