When was Carl Grimes bitten on The Walking Dead and did he die in season 8 episode 8? Courtesy THE SUN UK

THE SUN UK REVEALSWhen was Carl Grimes bitten on The Walking Dead and did he die in season 8 episode 8? Courtesy THE SUN UK

Find out what happens to this beloved original character after the show aired it's mid-season finale

But will he die? And what else do we know about this latest storyline – here’s what we know…

When was Carl Grimes bitten on The Walking Dead?

The closing moments of series eight’s midseason finale (epsiode 8) blew a hole right through one of the most important relationships in the AMC zombie drama – spelling curtains for yet another original character.
It seems the hit programme is now changed forever, having made one of the biggest deviations from the comic book series to date.
The end of the episode saw Carl Grimes – the teen son of the show’s protagonist Rick – revealing that he had been bitten by a Walker and was doomed to die.
The plucky young character, who has until now escaped death numerous times and lost his eye in the fight to survive, lives much longer in the book series.

Will Carl die on The Walking Dead?

Viewers can expect to see Carl perish in the next episode, shown in 2018 – though some avid fans of the show feel the death was unwarranted.
Carl is one of the five original characters left on the show, and the twist will have an enormous effect on the central character Rick, who has already suffered so much.
Showrunner Scott Gimple’s left Andrew Lincoln, the actor who plays Rick, flabbergasted when he told him he’d be losing his fictional son.
Andrew told Entertainment Weekly: “I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know what to say.
“I never saw it coming because I always thought that the kid would be the future, and that was the whole point of this. Everybody was reeling from it and continue to reel from it.”
Sad as he was, Andrew praised the performance of 18-year-old actor Chandler Riggs – who has played Carl since 2010.
He said: “It was the perfect way for him to leave with doing some of the finest work that I’ve ever seen him do.”
“When someone from the old guard goes, there’s a part of you that goes with them,” Andrew added.

What is next for Chandler Riggs who plays Carl?

Fans had been speculating that Chandler was set to leave the show after he announced last month that he was heading off to university.
However, the youngster is taking a gap year before heading to Auburn – and even took to mocking fans who claimed he’d be leaving the show.
Talking after the latest episode aired, Chandler insisted that it “wasn’t [his] decision” to leave the show and it was all “story-related”.
He added: “I didn’t expect for Carl to ever get killed off. But it serves a good purpose in the story. There’s still a little more left in Carl’s story and that impacts Rick, Michonne and everyone.
“Although Carl’s story is coming to an end it’s not over yet,” he explained.

Let's Talk The Walking Dead Season Premiere and the War to Come : Courtesy - Gizmodo

War! The Republic is crumbling under attacks by the ruthless Sith Lord, Count—wait a minute. Wrong war. Instead, after two full seasons of build-up, Rick and Negan have finally begun their long-awaited match-up, and tonight, the first battle was fought.

It’s clear that Rick won tonight’s battle, but those shots of him crying over two fresh graves imply it will end up a pyrrhic victory at best. I’ll talk more about it in my recap tomorrow morning, but I think I liked this—it definitely took its time, but I didn’t feel like it was killing time to pad out the episode, which is a marked improvement. Give your thoughts and theories in the comments—especially regarding Old Man Rick—but also including how screwed you think Gabriel is. My guess: Very!

The Walking Dead Showrunner Teasing Rick's Season 8 Death

During times of war, Rick Grimes is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his community and family safe on The Walking Dead. According to the AMC series' showrunner, that includes making the ultimate sacrifice.

Scott Gimple opened up about the tough times ahead for Rick Grimes in a recent interview, just as the series is set to begin production on its eighth season in Georgia. The showrunner's tease is consistent with series writer/creator Robert Kirkman's long running promise to kill Rick "eventually."

According to Gimple, Rick “will suffer any loss, even his own self to give his people and other people the life that they should live, where the world belongs to all of them and not just one person. A real life." It's something Rick has been striving for since leaving Atlanta. He had hoped to find some sort of civilization along the way but after encounters such as Terminus and the Governor, Rick realizes rebuilding the world on his own is the only viable option.

“That’s the only choice,” Gimple said. “So he’s willing to face the losses.”

This doesn't mean Rick would deal with the loss of someone close to him without a deal of grief. He is not becoming a cold-hearted leader despite the willingness to do what is necessary. “It isn’t that he’s willing to shake them off if they were to occur, or immediately rationalize them away,” Gimple says, “but he understands the enormity of what they are doing and the enormity of the possible cost.”

This all takes fans back to Rick's conversation with Michonne in Episode 7x12 which saw him telling his girlfriend that if either of them are to die, the other will have to continue their efforts in rebuilding the world. Killing Rick, however, would be a major deviation from The Walking Dead's comic book source material. Over 165 issues in (with the show at an equivalent of around issue 115), Rick Grimes is alive and well despite having only one hand and using the other to walk with a cane.

American Horror Story’ Season 7 Spoilers: Ryan Murphy Will Bring Back ‘Freak Show’ Characters; Showrunners ‘Still Exploring Season 4 In Season 7

The premiere of "American Horror Story" Season 7 is still several months away, and there has been no news regarding its plot. FX has released a couple of teasers that has led the show's fans to start speculating.

FX CEO John Landgraf confirmed to the media in October last year that there will, indeed, be a seventh season for the highly watched horror series. According to his statement, which can be seen on The Reporter Times, "AHS" was renewed as it uniquely "confronts our deepest fears with unmatched suspense and style.

Since the finale of Season 6, multiple news outlets have reported that the upcoming "American Horror Story" Season 7 plot will related to a cruise ship. The very first hint regarding this possible plot line was seen at the finale of the "Roanoke" season. The camera was focused on a model ship that crashed to the floor.

Shortly after that, the show's official Twitter account released a teaser clip that showed the ocean - a scene that was reminiscent of "Dark Shadow," which is a 1960s soap opera. The social media video was captioned, "The Monsters are All Gone."

The show's co-creator, Ryan Murphy, told Entertainment Weekly last year that the upcoming season will be tied to one of the franchise's previous seasons. "We will be going back to some 'Freak Show' characters, deeper histories, and mythologies," Murphy confirmed. "We are sort of still exploring Season 4 in Season 7."

Since the "AHS" franchise started, it has always premiered in the first week of October with 12 episodes. However, its sixth season broke from that shell and premiered in mid-September with only 10 episodes. This change of pace led fans to believe that FX and Murphy have their attention divided due to another hit show "American Crime Story."
