Game of Thrones season 8 news: Kit Harington films ‘gruelling’ finale amid battle promise

GAME OF THRONES fans still have a while to go before season eight arrives on screen and as filming rumbles on, it seems it may be taking its toll on one of the show’s main stars.

Game of Thrones hero Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) is sure to play a big role in the upcoming episodes.

However, as filming continues on the HBO hit, it seems the schedule is incredibly demanding on the 31-year-old actor.

As he spoke to The Sydney Morning Herald about his BBC hit, Gunpowder, which will soon air in Australia, it seemed all eyes were on what he had to say about Game of Thrones.

Naturally, Kit remained tight-lipped on the matter, choosing only to discuss the physical act of filming.

The newspaper noted he was “audibly wearing” during the interview as he had just finished a long day on Game of Thrones.

Kit admitted: “It was a gruelling day, I’m not going to lie.”

And previous to this, showrunner Dan Weiss promised it would be tiring for Kit.

He has teased in the past the actor would have to be in his best shape possible for season eight.

“Gonna be swinging that sword a lot,” the producer giggled.

With Kit finding himself tired by the new series, does that suggest Jon will survive until the very end?

Finn Wolfhard after scoring a pay raise for Stranger Things has landed a nice movie paycheck.

The 15-year-old Canadian actor will earn a base salary of $65,000 for his co-starring role in The Goldfinch, according to an article on Monday by TMZ.

Finn also can earn up to an additional $50,000 if the film based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name is a blockbuster.

The actor's overtime rate if filming exceeds planned dates is $4,333 per day, according to the contract that must be filed in court since he's age 15.

The contract also states that Stranger Things has top priority if The Goldfinch filming runs into production of the Netflix series.

Finn and his Stranger Things co-stars recently received pay increases of $250,000 per episode of season three.

Millie Bobby Brown, 14, reportedly will make $350,000 per episode.

Finn plays Mike Wheeler in the Netflix series that enjoyed breakout success with its first season.

The series also stars young actors Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp and adult stars David Harbour and Winona Ryder.

Finn also had a starring role in the 2017 supernatural horror film It based on the 1986 Stephen King novel.

He also can be seen later this year in the drama Dog Days that follows a group of people in Los Angeles interconnected by their canine companions.

Dog Days also starring Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens and Eva Longoria is scheduled for release on August 10.

he Originals: Joseph Morgan and Julie Plec Weigh in on "Klaroline" Courtesy: tvguide.com

The kickoff of The Originals final season is just around the corner, and it's chock full of moments we've been dying to see since the Season 4 finale.

We'll see how Freya (Riley Voelkel) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) have been managing the supernatural community in the French Quarter. We'll see how Rebekah (Claire Holt), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) have been dealing with their separation. But most importantly, we'll see Klaus' reunion with an old love of his, Caroline Forbes (Candice King).

To give us the scoop on Caroline's long-awaited crossover, we went straight to the source, creator and executive producer Julie Plec.

"I've always loved the very strange and layered dynamic between Klaus and Caroline. I mean, it has been vengeful, it has been destructive, it has been evil, it has been weirdly warm, and it showed a side of Klaus and his humanity that we never thought he had," Plec said. "I certainly would never tell you where we're going to go with Klaus and Caroline because somebody would kill me or I would maim myself for spoiling it, but it is a nice relationship that they have after all these years because Caroline is one of the few people outside of Klaus' family that can actually speak a straight truth to him, and he needs that. It is a friendship of honesty and a little bit of antagonism and some pretty good advice."

In the Season 5 premiere, Caroline will use that advice as an attempt to knock some much needed sense into Klaus where his daughter is concerned. Even after five years apart (or wait, has it been 15... yikes, timelines are confusing for immortals) its safe to say the bond between these two characters is still very much there.

The question of the hour is whether that chemistry will translate into a romance this year. It's the final season, after all, which means happily ever afters are officially on the table.

"She's on the show for the final season for a number of episodes, and we have a bunch of scenes together," Joseph Morgan told TV Guide. "Not everyone is going to be satisfied because there's no way that we could ever satisfy everyone, I think, but I'm certainly satisfied with the ending that those characters have, and I hope it pays tribute to the investment that people have made in them."

There are definitely quite a few fans who have invested a lot in the couple over the years, that's for sure!

The Originals: What Has Everyone Been Doing During the Time Jump?

Unfortunately, if you're hoping for a dramatic, all-consuming love affair between this duo in Season 5, you might be one of the people Morgan expects will be disappointed. Plec hinted that while there is certainly a deep connection between Klaus and Caroline in Season 5, it's safer not to expect a passionate love story.

"Klaus has had very few loves in his life, and the feelings he had for Caroline have always lingered in the back of his mind," Plec said. "And of course anybody who's a fan of The Vampire Diaries knows that she lost her own husband and she's been through many rollercoasters in her life as well. I wouldn't say that these star-crossed lovers get to collide and live happily ever after - one, I wouldn't say that because I don't want to spoil anything - but two, I think that their relationship is more mature than that at this point. They've got a lot to learn from each other before we even see where that could go."

The Originals returns Wednesday, April 18 at 9/8c on The CW.

The Walking Dead star explains why their character had to die in latest dramatic episode: Courtesy Digital Spy

Warning: This article contains MAJOR spoilers for The Walking Dead season 8 episode 15 'Worth'. You have been warned.

The all-out war claimed another casualty in the penultimate episode of The Walking Deadseason eight, as Negan showed who's boss.

In a dramatic episode, the Saviors leader killed his unpredictable lieutenant Simon in a one-versus-one, no weapons fight to the death to determine the group's leadership.

Steven Ogg, who played Simon for two seasons, said that despite his character undermining Negan's orders on multiple occasions (including what happened at Oceanside), he was actually showing respect to Negan by having their brutal brawl.

To Simon, he had been growing disillusioned with Negan's leadership and wanted to take action.
A few episodes ago, for example, Simon took control of the Saviors group attacking Hilltop rather than searching for Negan, who was in danger.

"I don't think it's necessarily like a power thing with Simon or like he's got to take over from Negan," Ogg explained. "I don't think it was that. It's just he stepped up and decided to do things his way."
"They had tried with Negan all these things and nothing had happened.

"It wasn't about going against Negan so much as just doing his own thing, and going back and asking for forgiveness."
Back in August, Ogg – promoting the eighth season – hinted that people would die and the herd would be 'thinned'. It turns out that he was also teasing his own character's death!
