Robert Pattinson Clubbing in London on Christmas Eve Without Kristen Stewart

Amidst rumor that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would spend holiday together, he was spotted hitting a local club in London without his leading lady in sight. The Edward Cullen of "Twilight Saga" movie franchise looked like he was having a good time though.

The "Cosmopolis" actor, who just finished a promo tour for "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II", went casual in a hoodie and a baseball cap as he came to the Sun Inn pub on Monday night, December 24. He looked relaxed as he shared laughs with his friends.

Himesh Reshammiya: It’s important to be part of a camp

By Hindustan Times

“If you are sticking to a camp (in Bollywood), it works because (of) the platform (it provides). There are so many talented people than me but how will they prove their talent? So yes it is important to be a part of a camp,” said the actor.

“Also, at the same time you need to be ready creatively at any given point. When you get a break, you can’t start working and follow a deadline. You should be creatively ready, pray to God and if you get a chance to have someone to back you, it works wonderfully,” he added. Reshammiya is also outspoken about accepting that he didn’t have to struggle much thanks to Salman.

“It’s not been hard because I had Salman Khan’s family backing me. They gave me my first break at a very early age. I didn’t really have to struggle,” he said.

Salman Khan to move out of Galaxy Apartments, feels uncomfortable

By Hindustan Times

Almost every Bollywood actor who makes a name for himself lives in a plush bungalow or at least a swanky apartment in Mumbai. All this while, superstar Salman Khan has been an exception to this rule. Salman has always lived with his family in his childhood home at Galaxy Apartments on Bandstand, Bandra. And were it not for the fans always waiting outside to catch a glimpse of the star, the modest Galaxy does not even come across as a Bollywood actor's residence.

But now, all that is set to change as the 46-year-old actor is set to move out of Galaxy in a year's time. "I have stayed here for as long as I could. Now I may stay here only for another year. We have a property, which we are constructing; that's where I will move," says Salman, without mentioning any details of his future address.

Presently, Salman stays on the ground floor of the apartment building, while his father, writer Salim Khan, and mother Salma stay on the first floor.

The Dabangg (2010) actor, however, is deeply attached to the house he has grown up in. He says, "I have not been able to move out of this house. I have been living here since childhood, and I'm used to everything about it. But it's about time I get out of my current residence. It's getting increasingly uncomfortable here, with no place for my shoes and clothes."

The actor is presently promoting his upcoming film, Dabangg 2, co-starring Sonakshi Sinha, and directed by his brother, actor-producer Arbaaz Khan. The film will release on December 21.

Madonna's 'MDNA' Ranks as No. 1 Concert Tour of 2012

Controversial pop icon Madonna has added another feather on her cap by topping this year's list of highest-grossing concert tours. According to Billboard, her world tour brought in the most money this year, reaching an incredible $228 million in revenues, besting rock and roll legend Bruce Springsteen's total of $198 million from his "The Wrecking Ball" tour with The E Street Band.

Madonna handily beat her younger contemporary, the equally-controversial Lady GaGa, who only managed to secure the no. 6 spot with $124 million from her "Born This Way Ball" tour. The notorious Material Girl is consistently in the headlines by making controversial stunts in her shows, like brandishing a gun onstage in Denver only shortly after the Colorado shooting during "The Dark Knight Rises" movie premiere, and handing out pink anti-homophobia wristbands to Russian fans.

With seventy more shows still lined up and potentially $450 million in total earnings, the "MDNA" tour may end-up as the all-time highest-grossing live act. The record is currently held by Irish rock band U2 for their "360 Degrees" tour which grossed a whopping $736 million from a total of 110 shows.

Other top acts in this year's list of highest-grossing tours include established artists Roger Waters with $186 million and Coldplay with $147 million. Teen sensations Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift also made it to the prestigious list, raking in $30 million and $26 million respectively.

By Hindustan Times

Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha is excited about the release of Dabangg 2 and says she is lucky to have one hit after another. "I am very happy and excited about the release of 'Dabangg 2'. I am lucky that I got to work in movies that have become hits," Sonakshi told reporters on the sidelines of an event.

The actress has been appointed as a brand ambassador of Rajhan (Desai-Jain) Group which operates into various verticals including realty, entertainment, hospitality and others.

Her movie with Ajay Devgn 'Son of Sardar' too was a hit at the box office.

Akshay Kumar flies to Germany for back rehab

By Hindustan Times

He is a known as Khiladi Kumar. And Akshay is in no mood to let anything come between him and his daredevil stunts. That’s why he flew to Germany for a back rehabilitation program as soon as he got some days off from the Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 schedule. “Akshay is doing a lot of action films and the audience also loves him in that avatar, so he doesn’t want to take any chances. Also, since 2013 is going to be packed with action films, he has decided to go in for a back rehab program,” says an insider close to the actor. Akshay’s line-up for next year includes films like the Thuppaki remake with AR Murugadoss, Neeraj Pandey’s Special Chhabis, Anthony D’Souza’s Boss and the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-produced Ramanna remake. “And considering his love for action and zeal to do all the stunts himself, he is fully focused on the program,” adds the insider.

In January this year, Akshay had gone to Germany for some back treatment after spraining it while working on an action sequence in Rowdy Rathore. Although he completed the schedule, he was still in pain. He was advised a special water therapy available only in Germany. His wife, Twinkle Khanna, had accompanied him. “This time, Akshay has gone without Twinkle since she has to take care of their newborn, Nitara,” adds the insider. Akshay is likely to be back in a couple of days.

Britney Spears Tops Forbes' 2012 Highest Paid Women in Music

Pop diva Britney Spears has taken the No. 1 spot on Forbes' top 10 highest-paid women in music for 2012 with an estimated $58 million in combined earnings from her albums, endorsements, and perfume line. "The X Factor (US)" judge bested two other huge artists, country princess Taylor Swift and R'n'B star Rihanna who took the second and third places with an estimated $57 million and $53 million in total paychecks respectively. Forbes announced the list of top-earners on Wednesday, December 12 based on estimated earnings from May 2011 to May 2012.

Spears, who was at No. 10 last year, mostly collected her dollars from sales of her latest set "Femme Fetale". She also pulled in cash from her tour and reality TV stint with "The X Factor". The judging role alone reportedly gave her $15 million.

Twenty-two-year-old Swift had her new album "Red" to thank for in making it to the second spot this year. She also earned more than $1 million a night with her tour, plus millions more from her contract with CoverGirl cosmetics and her fragrance line.

Rihanna, who climbed up two places from last year, also owed a lot to her tour and new album release. Lady GaGa, who was the No. 1 earner last year, ended up at the No. 4 this year with $52 million.

Rounding up the top five is singer Katy Perry with $45 million in total earnings. Perry's California Dreams tour grossed about $60 million and she's noted to be the only musician other than Michael Jackson to have produced five No. 1 songs from one album.

"I think people love the comeback story - Britney never really finished her run as a superstar," marketing expert and author of "The Tanning of America", Steve Stoute, told Forbes. Stoute also said that, "What all these girls have in common is that they have smashes under their belts. GaGa... she's a pop culture icon because of her sensibilities... I think Rihanna has found the very thin space of being the alter ego of the good girl... [along with Katy Perry], they've completely dominated the charts in the past three years."

Forbes Top 10 Highest-Paid Women in Music 2012:
Britney Spears - ( $58 million)
Taylor Swift - ($57 million )
Rihanna - ($53 million)
Lady GaGa - ($52 million)
Katy Perry - ($45 million )
Beyonce Knowles - ($40 million)
Adele - ($35 million)
Sade - ($33 million)
Madonna - ($30 million)
Shakira - ($20 million)

Akshay Kumar to play lead in Jatt and Juliet remake

By Hindustan Times

Himesh Reshammiya is back, and how. While he is back to composing for quite a few films, he is also taking his stint as a producer quite seriously. Once he would wrap up shooting of Khiladi 786, he would also begin work on the Hindi remake of Punjabi blockbuster Jatt & Juliet, the rights of
which he has acquired.

''While so many filmmakers are running down South to pick up films for remakes, Himesh has wasted no time in heading North and finalized a Punjabi film Jatt & Juliet. He would be remaking the film under his banner HR Musik", confirms a close associate.

The film's cast is yet to be decided and though Himesh is also acting in Khiladi 786 along with Akshay Kumar, it is yet to be seen who faces the camera for Jatt & Juliet remake.

"There would be an announcement in this regard soon but one thing is sure, just like Khiladi 786, even Jatt & Juliet remake would have A-lister hero and heroine", the associate adds.

When released a few weeks back, Jatt & Juliet turned out to be the biggest blockbuster in the history of Punjabi cinema as it also broke the record of Bodyguard up North. Now that Himesh has all-India plans for the film, it has to be seen how far he goes in making it suitable for universal audience.

A source adds, "First thing that he is doing in this direction is to compose music for the entire album. The film would have music on the lines of Namastey London which also had a Punjabi base to it."

Riding high on the success of Bodyguard music still doing well, 'Chalao Naa' from Bol Bachchan gaining good popularity, 'Go Go Govinda' [OMG - Oh My God] doing well in this festive season and Son Of Sardaar carrying good reports, Himesh is happy to be scoring well on the music front. Now with the rights of Jatt & Juliet being acquired, it would be interesting to see if the film reverses the trend of South remakes and brings Punjabi remakes in vogue.

Sonakshi Sinha may star in family drama

By Hindustan Times

Filmmaker Umesh Shukla, director of OMG - Oh My God!, has been approached to helm a family drama with actor Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

“Talks are on, but nothing is official right now. I have not signed it yet. I am developing a script right now and I am looking forward to it,” says
Shukla. Shukla says he has been approached by the Sinha family’s banner for the movie. Sonakshi Sinha is the daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. “Sonakhi did an item number for my film, OMG - Oh My God!, and we are very good friends. I share a very good relationship with her family. Sonakshi will play the lead in my film for sure,” says Shukla.

Shukla says the project will be “a family drama and issue-based”. “They approached me to make a film for them and they are looking for some good content. It will be a light-hearted project,” he says.

But considering that Sonakshi’s brother Luv is also an actor, roping in the entire Sinha family is not on Shukla’s mind. “I will not do that (rope in all family members). It all depends on the script. Just to get the family together, I will not cast them. It should justify the role. So, let’s see how things fall in place,” says Shukla.

Justin Bieber Pictured Throwing Water Bottle at Paparazzi

Justin Bieber didn't look pleased when he went out for shopping trip in Miami recently. The teen flashed no smile to the camera when chucking a bottle of water in the direction of swarming paparazzi after he made his way out of a store with his bodyguards.

The "Boyfriend" singer went shopping solo without his girlfriend Selena Gomez in tow. The Canadian heartthrob donned a plain white tee with its short sleeves rolled up, navy-blue hammer pants, a backward baseball cap, dark shades, and some gold chains.

Bieber is currently preparing for his extended tour. Last weekend, he performed for Z100's Jingle Ball, during which he addressed his Grammy snub, "Thank you to all of my beautiful fans out there. I don't need a Grammy to have your love. You guys are still so incredible."

He later wrote on Twitter, "And i met (sic) what i said at the end. finally answered about the grammys. I got you guys. that is all i need. Im all good."

Miley Cyrus' Heart 'So Hurt and Broken' After Her Dog Lila Died

Miley Cyrus is mourning the death of one of her dogs, a 2-year-old Yorkie mix named Lila. "My heart has never been so broken..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away," the former Disney darling tweeted to more than 10 million followers on Tuesday, December 11.

"Can't think of one good reason to get out of bed today," she wrote earlier that day. "For everyone asking... I have never been so hurt in my life." She added, "Broken. Gonna go MIA for a bit. Need some healing time. Thank you to everyone who has sent love my way. I need it."

The cause of Lila's death is unclear. Last October, the dog was sent to hospital for unknown illness. "Please pray for my baby girl Lila... She is in the hospital. I am so heart broken. Please send out vibes for her to not be afraid & to heal," so Miley posted back then.

Miley, who encourages her fans to adopt stray animals from shelters instead of buying them, brought home Lila in 2011. The animal lover celebrated the pup's birthday in November. She and fiance Liam Hemsworth had four other rescued pets, Ziggy, Floyd, Mary Jane and Happy.

In addition to being a huge dog lover, Miley has a soft spot for pig. Coinciding with her 20th birthday, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) named a rescued pig Nora in her honor. The pig now lives at the Kindred Spirits Sanctuary in Ocala, Florida.

A baby girl is exactly what our home needed: Akshay Kumar

By Hindustan Times

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who became the proud father of baby girl Nitara three months back, says his family is now complete with the arrival of the new born. The 45-year-old actor also has son Aarav, 10, with wife Twinkle and he said he does not face any problem taking care of a
newborn all over again after so many years.

"I seem to have remembered all the little techniques that make a baby go gaga when I enter the room. So far everything has just been so smooth. My wife is over the moon and in her elements right now. A baby girl is exactly what our home needed," Akshay said.

"Now me and my son are gonna have to stick together to fight for male pride in the house. Or least fight for our Sunday cricket matches and that is about it. The rest of the time we are more than happy to live for all the women in our family," he added.

This has been a good year for Akshay with three of his films Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore and OMG! Oh My God tasting roaring success at the box office. His last film of the year Khiladi 786, a very commercial action film, has just hit theatres.

"It is the kind of action that makes you be a part of some good fun at the cinema. You can call it over the top, or insane, even incredible if you wish! Action of any kind can be admired in any way you wish; there are a million or more opinions and expectations to please," he said.

Shakira and Beau Gerard Pique Share Sonogram Picture of Unborn Son

Shakira and her footballer boyfriend Gerard Pique share a first look at their unborn child. "His first pic! #excited #cute," the center back of FC Barcelona tweeted along with a picture of the baby's ultrasound sonogram, which was re-tweeted by the Colombian singer.

Shakira announced her pregnancy last September. "At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days," she explained her reason to cancel her performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.

The couple later revealed that they're expecting a baby boy. The baby will be a first child for both Shakira and Gerard.

Before dating Gerard, Shakira was in a longtime relationship with Antonio de la Rua. They split in 2011 after 11 years together, but continued their professional relationship as a business partner. Their professional partnership was strained when they sued each other earlier this year.

Building curiosity for Dabangg 2 important, says Arbaaz

By Hindustan Times

The team of Dabangg 2 will go full throttle for the movie's promotion soon. Producer-director Arbaaz Khan says it was vital to maintain the curiosity for the movie until now. "Building curiosity for the film was important. This was the need of the film. People are liking the look of the film which is a positive step," Arbaaz said at a press conference here Wednesday.

Arbaaz is making his directorial debut with Dabangg 2, which is the sequel of 2010 blockbuster Dabangg.

He says the film carries forward the story from Dabangg, which also starred Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

"It is a sequel to the film and the story is going ahead. The couple is married now and a scenario of how a married couple can also be romantically inclined to each other is created in the film," said Arbaaz.

Talking about the promotional strategy of the film, he said they are hard-pressed for time, but they do have some promotional plans now.

"It has been a slightly squeezed film. But we will be promoting the film now. Salman will be doing shows on TV to promote," he said.

The movie will release Dec 21.

First look: Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam

By Hindustan Times

Abhinav Kashyap is out with a very colourful first look of Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Besharam. The Kapoor lad is seen in a rustic avatar, wearing a yellow printed shirt and sitting in the boot space of a pink car.

The tagline, Na Samman Ka Moh, Na Apmaan Ka Bhay, suggests Ranbir will be seen in a bindass role.

Ranbir will sport a macho look in this film. "He will need to put on some muscle as he will be shooting quite a few fighting sequences," Pradeep Bhatia, the actor's trainer, from Elixir Fitness, Andheri, Mumbai told HT Cafe.

"He is not going to show his abs in the film, but he will need to look tough when he shoots the action scenes," added Pradeep.

The film shoot begins on December 10 with a song sequence, which features Ranbir along with the film's female lead Pallavi Sharda.

Ranbir is also expected to share the screen with his dad Rishi Kapoor and mom Neetu Singh.

This will be Abhinav Kashyap's second film after Dabangg, which starred Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

Besharam is slated to release on October 2, 2013.

Maroon 5 Premiere New Video 'Daylight'

Maroon 5 have premiered their latest music video "Daylight" from their most recent studio album "Overexposed". The clip contains various footage that actually came from fans around the globe. The band asked their loyal followers to send their own home videos to complete what they called "The Daylight Project".

Frontman Adam Levine , who says that the new track is one of his favorites in the album, is delighted to see the final result of the video project. The fan clips were unique and ranged from wedding footage, on-cam shoutouts to families, friends, and even one girl exclaiming how she loved her dog.

Though the concept was fun in nature, some of the footage were also very heart-breaking as it presented sentiments of people who have lost families and individuals who talked about their regrets and worries in life. The band's song played over and faded down as the different clips showed more people who were willing to talk about their own personal struggles and experiences and the difficulties that we all go through and try to triumph over.

Viewers of "The Voice" are already familiar with the single as the band had played it live this week on the show. It's quite a simple song but the lyrics and the melody will surely make it a song that grows on people over time.

Although a bit of a slow and laid-back song, "Daylight" definitely has the recall and the catchy nine-minute video to help make it into a smash hit. Maroon 5's recent releases include "Payphone" and "One More Night".

'Transformers 4' Finds Its New Young Leads in Brenton Thwaites and Nicola Peltz

"Transformers 4" has already found its new lead actors who will join Mark Wahlberg in action with Optimus Prime and other gigantic autobots. Breaking the news is Twitch, which learns that Brenton Thwaites and Nicola Peltz are the ones chosen to round up the principal cast of the Michael Bay-directed movie.

Peltz, who is best known for her role as Katara in "The Last Airbender", is set to play the daughter of Wahlberg's character. Meanwhile, Australian actor Thwaites, who will next be seen in Angelina Jolie's "Maleficent", is tapped to play Peltz's biker boyfriend.

This freshly-shared casting news seems to confirm previous report suggesting that "T4" will feature two new leads; a young girl and a boy. Back in October, it was said that "the new female lead that they are looking for is a high school senior and her boyfriend a Texas racing driver."

The first three "Transformers" movies were fronted by Shia LaBeouf who played clumsy Sam Witwicky. He was a social outcast who unintentionally bought Bumblebee to impress the hottest girl in his school Mikaela Banes, who was played by Megan Fox in the first two chapters.

Fox was no longer taking the female lead role in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon", and she was replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The British model/actress starred as Carly Spencer, an English curator at Dylan Gould's company.

To arrive in the U.S. theaters on June 26, 2014, "Transformers 4" will have Bay returning as the helmer. Though confirming that the film would include a brand new cast ensemble, Bay insisted that it would not be a reboot. "It's not a reboot, that's maybe wrong," he once said to Hero Complex.

Ariel Winter's Mother Sues Actor for Defamation Over 'Abusive Monster' Comment

Chrisoula Workman is fuming at an online commentator who branded her an "abusive monster" on Los Angeles Times under an article about ongoing custody drama of Ariel Winter. She launches a defamation lawsuit against the person identified as Matthew Borlenghi who teaches at a studio run by her older daughter Shanelle Gray.

"This is a total falsehood," the comment attributed to Matthew reads. "The mother is grasping and clawing to find a way not to lose her money-maker, and hide the fact that she is an abusive monster. Having spent time with her, and seeing the way she acted adoringly towards the boy, these accusations are disgusting, just as she is."

Matthew, an actor and CEO of Black Hat Productions, says he hasn't seen the lawsuit and refuses to say whether it's indeed him who posted the comment who is still online as of press time. Regardless, he makes it clear where his alliance lies in the Chris and Shanelle custody battle of Ariel.

"All I can say is that David (Gray) and Shanelle Gray are very close friends of mine and comments that Chris has made are absolutely fabricated," he told The Associated Press. "The negative comments she's made about her own daughter in order to try to get custody back of Ariel are truly disgusting."

The custody drama will be back in court on Wednesday, December 12. In a previous hearing, social workers at Children Services found evidence of emotional abuse towards Ariel. The "Modern Family" actress continues to live with Shanelle after judge extended her temporary guardianship.

Chris vehemently denies report that she abused Ariel. In her defense, she claimed her 14-year-old daughter rebelled after she was banned from seeing her 18-year-old boyfriend. She also accused Shanelle of using Ariel as a stepping stone for her own career as an actress.

Decision on whether Ariel should live permanently with Shanelle, who was allegedly removed in her youth from the care of Chris due to a similar abuse accusation, has yet to be made pending the upcoming trial.

Tom Cruise Looking Forward to Spending Christmas With Suri

Tom Cruise, who spent the last few months away to film his movie projects, is going to come home for Christmas holiday. Like he did last Thanksgiving, he plans to spend the upcoming festive season with his children, Bella, 20, Connor, 17, and Suri, 6.

"We have got lots of very special things planned [for the holidays]," the father of three said to PEOPLE on the red carpet of his movie "Jack Reacher" in London. He additionally gushed, "We are all going to be together. I am looking forward to it."

The Monday, December 10 event marked Tom's first appearance on the red carpet since his divorce from Katie Holmes earlier this year. He was all smiles as he posed for the swarming photographers in a three-layered top and jeans.

Tom has been staying in London since August to film his other movie "All You Need Is Kill". "I love it here," he commented. "I have made so many films here and I have worked with so many of the actors here. It is a wonderful place to live."

"I am shooting a film over here ... seven days a week. But I feel great," the 50-year-old star added. "It doesn't take up all my time, but I have a very busy schedule and I like it that way."

Now actors are much smarter, says Madhuri Dixit

Actor Madhuri Dixit, who has come back to Mumbai and Bollywood after more than a decade (she had moved to the US after tying the knot with Dr Sriram Nene, a surgeon, in 1999) says that the Hindi film industry has undergone a sea change since she last worked in it.
“The industry and its people have become smarter now as compared to our times. Now, for everything, there is a lot of planning involved. In our times, producers would invest money just for the passion of a script but now the commercial viability is of utmost importance. I remember how back then, the shooting of a film would span over years whereas now a film is completed in three months and then goes for post production,” said Madhuri in an interview in Delhi.

And it is just not the making of films, even the way actors position themselves now is different, she feels. “Today, more than ever, it is important for an actor to be heard — to let people know about them and what they are up to. In our times there were just 2-3 magazines but now there is a huge influx of media and as an artist you need a proper professional team to help you handle that and manage your career.” Probably, this explains why the 45-year-old has replaced Rikku Nath, her manager of many years, with a professional company that now manages her career.

Madhuri has signed on two films recently, Dedh Ishqiya and Gulaab Gang. “Both the films have very tight scripts and mature roles and I am looking forward to them. At this point of my life, I can’t run around trees,” she said.

JAB TAK HAI JAAN: Trailer releases, trends on Twitter

By Hindustan Times
Soon after Yash Chopra revealed the name of his latest romantic flick, we get to see the trailer of Jab Tak Hai Jaan also! Trending heavily on Twitter, the trailer shows Shah Rukh Khan romancing in his signature style with both Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The two and a half minute clip captures the drama, romance and the complexities in the film with Shah Rukh Khan narrating the storyline cryptically in the background.

Shah Rukh Khan turns poet, translates Jab Tak Hai Jaan poem
Shakespeare asked that what's in a name, he probably didn't forecast the announcement of the title of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
With the name of the YRF production coming out, there has been immense buzz about the accompanying poem, penned by Aditya Chopra. Following the buzz the poem has stirred, our very own King Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan took to translating the poem from Hindi to English.
"Teri aankhon ki namkeen mastiyaan
Teri hansi ki beparwa gustaakhiyaan
Teri zulfon ki lehrati angdaaiyaan
Nahi bhoolunga main
Jab tak hai jaan, Jab tak hai jaan
Tera haath se haath chodna
Tera saayon ka rukh modna
Tera palat ke phir na dekhna
Nahin maaf karoonga main
Jab tak hai jaan, Jab tak hai jaan"
Shah Rukh Khan posted two versions of his translation on Twitter. What made this act of writing even more interesting was the background picture Shah Rukh Khan posted.
He tweeted, "“Will do my own english translation of the poem & update. Am glad most liked the title...i am getting used to it myself...Jab Tak Hai JAAN..”
King Khan wasn't satisfied with just one. Within no time, he gathered another English translation and it was equally well-received on Twitter.
He also asked his followers to translate the poem into their lagugages, guranteeing a retweet for their translations. “Send me translations in your language and i will retweet it for others to read...aditya chopra's verses of love,” he tweeted.
Very soon his Twitter wall was flocked by translations in all languages one can imagine.
There was a gala of languages on his wall, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Pashto, Farsi, Russian, Turkish, Gujarati, Urdu, Italian, Japanese, Dari, Portuguese, Kannada, Indonesian, Hungarian, Sindhi, Swedish- tweeple translated them into all.
Needless to say, Shah Rukh Khan's charisma and star appeal is universal in nature and transcends the boundaries of language, race and ethnicity.
Yash Chopra is known for his cinematic grandeur, and the title of his much anticipated film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma is following that trend.
Titled Jab Tak Hai Jaan, the film promises an epic saga of undying love.
For the longest time, Shah Rukh fans had to make do with the title, 'A Yash Chopra Romance'.
Even in the trailer of the film, this title raised many eyebrows and hiked curiosity worldwide.
After all, Jab Tak Hai Jaan marks the comeback of Yash Chopra as a director after eight years.
For Shah Rukh fans, they now have a name to pin their hopes to.
As the day progressed, Jab Tak Hai Jaan took to trending worldwide on Twitter with numerous fan clubs and tweets spilling all over the social media site.
Known for his larger-than-life screen depictions, Yash Chopra seems to have planned the film publicity too in a similar way. We woke up to a full-page spread of Gulzar's lyrics for the title track and a suave Shah Rukh Khan, dressed as an army man looking regal on his Royal Enfield motorcycle.
People on Twitter are having a field day. From spreading the news to commenting on the title, Jab Tak Hai Jann has totally taken over the webspace.
This is what tweeple are saying:
@aashay_dipankar: I will see Jab Tak Hai Jaan just for my love Katrina....
@iamtrisha_: OMG!!Yaaaaaaay #Jab Tak Hai Jaan is trending :D WOW @iamsrk (sic)
@StarGoldIndia 1st day all shows ... Jab Tak Hai Jaan.. SRK is Life...
@soyeb_patel: NEXT HISTORICAL BOLLYWOOD FILM IS ........ ? 1) JAB TAK HAI JAAN 2) #JabTakHaiJaan 3) #JTHJ.
@dhoni_srk28: it is EPIC .. and the poem gave extra goosebumps... Jab Tak Hai Jaan..
Apart from the anticipation and the rave reviews, some people are also commenting on the title.
Many think that such a long wait for the title of the movie is not exactly as fantastic as they imagined.
Some are saying that it is a disappointment, especially after the bustling buzz Yash Raj Films aimed to create with delaying the title.
@BollywoodBlogNL: When They announced the titel of YC's next who else started singing: Jab Tak Hai Jaan Main Naachungi Main Naachungi LOL
@TheRadioJoker: Yash Chopra confirms he is mking a trilogy. 1st prt Jab tak hai Jaan 2nd prt Jaane Jahan 3rd prt Main Naachungi. Basically sholay in 3 parts
@aashumi: soo much suspense and this name "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" Really? #FAIL
@ABHINAVsr: faltu title usse accha toh london ishq title tha , Jab Tak Hai Jaan ,,,,,,king khan.....real tiger...
So has Yash Chopra nailed this one? The title is winning the hearts of Shah Rukh, Katrina and Anushka fans but is also receiving stinkers for its similarity with the Hema Malini song from Sholay, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Main Nachungi...
But one thing is sure, with just the title trending so heavily on Twitter, Jab Tak Hai Jaan is on its way to something big- just like a classic Yash Raj film.

Big B: Romancing the silver screen at 70!

By Hindustan Times
At 70, Amitabh Bachchan has romanced the silver screen for more than four decades. He has also successfully hosted six seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati. This year, the megastar has also widened his social 'network' by joining Facebook. He also made India proud by carrying Olympic torch in London this year.
Come May 2013 and Big B would venture into Hollywood, albeit in a cameo appearance in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.
So what if his gamble of playing an underworld don turned politician in Ram Gopal Varma's Department (2011) did not pay off at the box office, his role of Prabhakar Anand in Aarakshan (2011) got him critical acclaim and moderate success. Be it Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap or Paa, roles are being exclusively written for the star.
Amitabh Bachchan got to experiment a lot in this second innings. Barring films like Mrityudata, Lal Badshah and Suryavansham, Big B seldom went wrong with the choice of films. In fact, fresh and experimental scripts are being written exclusively for him. And certainly that's not just because he has ruled Bollywood for more than four decades, it is because Amitabh with his boundless energy is raring to reinterpret himself as an actor with each film.
People who worshipped his larger-than-life image wouldn't have imagined that he'd enter their television sets through Kaun Banega Crorepati. But he did. And for everybody's surprise swayed everybody off their feet (including his critics) with his new avatar as a TV host.
Top 10 landmark movies
Zanjeer: Amitabh Bachchan was relaunched as angry young man of Bollywood with Prakash Mehra's Zanjeer. Inspector Vijay Khanna became the new youth icon.
Sholay: Considered to be one of the greatest films in Indian cinema, Sholay directed by Ramesh Sippy became memorable for every actor who featured in it, including Amitabh Bachchan.
Don: The actor played a double role in the film - one as Don and the other as Vijay. The film was later remade by Farhan Akhtar that featured Shah Rukh Khan.
Shehenshah: Amitabh made a comeback after a three year hiatus with this film.
Agneepath: The film portrayed Amitabh Bachchan in the legendary role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. The movie though not commercially successful was critically acclaimed. Amitabh Bachchan went on to win National Award for the film.
Baghban: The film had Amitabh and Hema Malini as a lead couple. The two exuded wonderful chemistry on screen. Needless to say it was a hit at the box office.
Black: Big B played the role of a teacher in the film. The movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was critically acclaimed. It got Bachchan a National Award.
Bunty Aur Babli: Amitabh Bachchan plays a cop in this film, though not an angry one. In fact he shook his leg to Kajrare song with now daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai.
Sarkar: Directed by RGV, Amitabh played the title role in Sarkar. It also starred Abhishek Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon, Katrina Kaif, Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak and Tanisha Mukherjee.
Paa: Amitabh Bachchan created history by playing son to his son Abhishek in the movie. The actor played a 12-year-old boy suffering from a rare genetic disorder called progeria. The film got him his third National Award.

"I do not consider myself Hollywood material. My participation in The Great Gatsby is a friendly gesture for (director) Baz Luhrmann - it's less than a blink-and-miss appearance." - Hindustan Times
"OK!! HERE IT IS : Have been invited by London Olympic Organizing Committee to carry the torch in the relay tomorrow... Honored to be asked to carry the Olympic Torch in London at Southwark around 10:30 AM !! A proud moment for me and country." - Twitter
"I sometimes feel that I have been born to attract controversy. Whatever I do becomes controversial." - Sunday (1987)
"She (Aishwarya) is not like a friend but a friend. In fact she is my daughter and not daughter-in-law. If you are noticing us together on every occasion it's because situation demands so. Neither Aishwarya nor me are self-appointed detectives trailing each other." - Glamsham
"Marketing and promotional acts have introduced new business practices to get that first week’s full house, recover money, and move on. We remember even the interlude music of the songs from the ‘50s and ‘60s. We do not remember the songs of today’s films. Or maybe they do! Maybe the younger generations do! Maybe this generation registers what it chooses to, and moves on. Maybe we have gone irritably slow. This generation talks and thinks faster. My grandson of 8 teaches me how to install my BlackBerry and my iPad. Maybe I am the wrong person to be answering a question (on change). Who knows!" - Hindustan Times
"Professionally I have never ever attempted to change a single comma, once the script is with me and I have signed on the dotted line. That is beyond my professional ethics. I had no reason to doubt, being in the company of such great writers as Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Khawaja Ahmed Abbas, Salim-Javed, Prakash Mehra, Kadar Khan, Prayag Raj, Shukla, Gulzar and many other renowned personalities. What they wrote remained final. What I get today also remains final -- my professional conditions prevail." - Hindustan Times
"As for romancing nubile women on screen, I have no choice. I must play roles commensurate with my age. There have been exceptions. KANK (Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna) had me playing a happy, fun-loving lothario; Nishabd was about a disturbing relationship. Ironically, the only time I have been kissed on screen, note, I have been kissed, not of my own desire, has been in two films that I did in my 60-plus years – Black and Nishabd!" - Hindustan Times
On Kaun Banega Crorepati
"When we were just starting in 2000 and I had agreed to do the show, I never thought it would continue for 12 years. KBC has been a moving and extremely satisfying experience for me."

On granddaughter Aaradhya:

"She hasn’t started speaking yet but she pulls my beard. She knows that this man with beard is special. We adjust our timings according to her. I make sure I get enough time to play with her."
On plans for his 70th birthday (on October 11):
"You will have to ask the family about my birthday plans. But, I think they are planning something."

Kat-Fight still on Aishwarya?

By Hindustan Times
MUMBAI, Oct. 3 -- It's known that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif don't quite share the best equation. And the two actors have successfully managed to avoid meeting each other until now. But on the sets of the ongoing Dhoom:3 shoot in Chicago, they ran into each other. And sources tell us that the cold war between the two still continues.
A source close to the film reveals, "Aishwarya dropped in on the sets to meet Abhishek (husband Abhishek Bachchan), who is shooting for the film. She had come with their daughter, Aaradhya, to spend some time with him." The source adds, "Since Katrina is also shooting for the movie, the day she landed, Aishwarya was there too."
So what happened when they met? Our source says, "They just exchanged a cursory polite smile. They didn't speak. It was pretty much like how it was in the past, when the two never interacted."
Going back into the past, interactions between Katrina and Aishwarya have always been restricted. The reason for this is believed to be both actors' alleged romantic relationships with Salman Khan.
Even at public events or award functions, neither has ever taken the initiative to break the ice.
In fact, a couple of years ago, when a news channel asked Katrina to wish Aishwarya on her birthday, the actor changed the topic and refused to give a statement.

Critics verdict: Sridevi is absolute magic in English Vinglish!

By Hindustan Times

After watching English Vinglish, you will thoroughly welcome her return. At 49 years old Sridevi still has it! Gauri Shinde shines in her directorial debut. She displays a fine control of her filmmaking craft, say critics.
"One needs to applaud the endeavor because films like Paan Singh Tomar, Kahaani, Vicky Donor, GOW 1 and 2, Barfi!, also last week's OMG - Oh My God! and now English Vinglish, hi-concept films all, take the unconventional route, yet enlighten and entertain, both. Sure, masala movies are great fun, but a film like English Vinglish breaks the monotony, shatters the unwritten rules of the game and scores brownie points. Cinema is rapidly changing and one can connect with viewers across the globe even without making the usual mainstream Hindi movie. English Vinglish proves it!" writes Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama.
English Vinglish"In line with Cheeni Kum and Paa, English Vinglish is as beautifully crafted as the earlier two films. All three films deal with poignant issues, yet present them with a near perfect balance of comedy, drama and emotion. You will laugh along with the characters and you will also be emotional with them, which draws you closer to the narrative and in this case Shashi’s journey. Here full credit has to go to Gauri Shinde, who also wrote the story and screenplay. Without being too preachy, or overdramatised, as mentioned the narrative is perfectly balanced. With only a 2 hour and 10 minute running time, the editing is crisp and credit here has to go the Hamanti Sarkar. What is quite a simple and universal concept was written and edited so well, that it provided so many extra layers to the film," says Anjum Shabbir, BollySpice.com.
"Far more often, though, English Vinglish is traditional Bollywood escapism, a lightly enjoyable trifle featuring exuberant musical interludes, an extremely chaste approach to conjugal relations and extramarital temptation, and a crowdpleasing wrap-up that allows the lead character to be all she can be while still respecting family values," writes Joe Leydon, Variety.com.
Sridevi back with a bang
"English Vinglish is unimaginable without Sridevi. Correspondingly, I don't think Sridevi could've got a more cohesive script to return to movies. This is unlike what the actress has done in the past. Think of Sridevi and you recall films Like Himmatwala, Chaalbaaz, Nagina, Mr. India, Chandni, Lamhe, Khuda Gawah, Laadla and Judaai. But the supremely talented actress also has non-glam roles like the one in Sadma to her credit. She returns to the big screen in a role that's sans the frills, spectacle and theatrics and yet wins hearts. She's stellar, in terrific form, immersing herself in this character, playing her age… so much so that after a point you forget you're watching someone who has immortalized so many characters. What you carry home, and in your heart, is Shashi, a woman who is snubbed by her children and husband on various occasions for her lack of English-language skills, but overpowers her apprehensions and insecurities and emerges triumphant eventually," says Adarsh.
"After a 15 year hiatus and still remembered fondly for her last powerful performance in Judaai opposite Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar, Sridevi ruled the late 80s and early 90s. After watching English Vinglish, you will thoroughly welcome her return. At 49 years old Sridevi still has it! Unlike her on and off screen, glamorous avatar, here she is presented as a simple down to earth mother. Her portrayal of Sashi is sensitive and uplifting, with Sridevi really managing to get under the skin of the character. Not once do you associate her with any of her previous roles or persona. As far as comebacks go, in comparison to Madhuri Dixit’s comeback (Aaja Nachle) and Karishma Kapoor (Dangerous Ishhq), this is by far the best comeback vehicle – an author backed role, in a beautifully crafted film, which not only does justice to the actress herself, but also her fans," feels Shabbir.
"Disarmingly charming in a manner that recalls Audrey Hepburn, Sridevi plays Shashi, a thirtysomething Pune wife and mom whose culinary expertise and other homemaking skills are routinely taken for granted by her husband and two children. Worse, her spouse and kids repeatedly tease her about her inability (or unwillingness) to master English, which they see as yet another sign of her tradition-bound mindset," says Leydon.

Other performances

"French actor Mehdi Nebbou is just right. Even when he's speaking in French, the expression that he conveys says it all and that is the hallmark of a fine actor. However, when he speaks in French, subtitles in English were essential for the viewer to decipher or decode and would have adjoined considerable value to those extremely significant sequences. Amitabh Bachchan is simply fantastic in a cameo. Wish there was more of this legendary actor! Navika Kotia, enacting the role of the daughter, is first-rate, but it is the child actor, Shivansh Kotia, Sridevi's son, who is endearing and steals your heart with his adorable antics. Sulbha Deshpande is admirable," feels Adarsh.
"Sridevi's classmates, each of them, pitch in neat performances. Right from the taxi driver from Pakistan to a South Indian guy to a Mexican nanny and of course, the English teacher, everyone stands out in their respective parts," adds Adarsh.

Direction

"Gauri Shinde shines in her directorial debut. With a diploma in filmmaking from the New York Film Academy, she displays a fine control of her filmmaking craft, from the script, to drawing excellent performances from her cast, to the look and feel of the film. Unlike many of the Bollywood films shot in New York and abroad generally, Gauri manages to capture real middle-class, immigrant, diaspora life in New York. Further, her characters and dialogues are real and unlike the cliches we have become accustomed to," says Shabbir.

Conclusion

"On the whole, English Vinglish is a remarkable motion picture. It's amusing, emotional, heartrending and also insightful. An inspiring film with an overwhelming message. A must-watch for every parent, every child. Strongly recommended!" says Adarsh.
"Overall an extremely praiseworthy film. Excellent performances, especially from Sridevi. A beautifully crafted film. One for the entire family and universal audiences. Easily one of the best films of the year! To the team of English Vinglish: encore, encore!" concludes Shabbir.

Akshay Kumar’s daughter named after Rajesh Khanna

Actor Akshay Kumar has paid a special tribute to his late father-in-law, veteran actor Rajesh Khanna, by naming his newborn daughter, Nitara Khanna Bhatia. While ‘Bhatiya’ is Akshay’s last name, ‘Khanna’ has been included to pay respect to Rajesh Khanna, who passed away in July this year.

Twinkle Khanna gave birth to a daughter on September 25. The former actress delivered at Breach Candy Hospital in South Bombay reportedly.

"We are blessed with a lovely baby girl who looks just like her mother and grandmother. I have no words to express my happiness. I would like to thank everyone for their blessings and best wishes," Akshay Kumar said in a statement.

According to reports, it was a normal delivery and both mother and daughter are doing fine.
Akshay married Twinkle in 2001. The couple also has 10-year-old son Aarav. And after their newly-born daughter, the family is complete.
