Donna Summer Dead at 63
Disco has lost a legend today. Donna Summer has died at the age 63. Hey guys, you're watching ClevverMusic. Disco diva Donna Summer has passed away, due to a battle with cancer. TMZ reports that Donna passed in Key West, Florida, where she was attempting to keep her sickness private. A source that was with Donna just a few weeks ago said that Donna didn't seem sickly, and was even working on an album.
Donna is no doubt a disco icon, known for her 1970's dance hits like 'Last Dance,' and 'Hot Stuff' and then her 1980's comeback hits 'She Works Hard for the Money' and 'This Time I Know It's Real.' Donna was recognized for her hard work with 5 Grammys in her career and 12 Gold-selling singles through her sustaining career, along with dozens of other awards and nominations.
Donna also paved the way for African American female performers of her time, receiving the first MTV VMA nomination for the video of 'She Works Hard for the Money.' We send our condolences to Donna's family, friends, and fans, we will definitely miss her. Donna was married to Brooklyn Dreams vocalist Bruce Sudano and has two daughters Brooklyn and Amanda, and four grandchildren.
