Mumbai, Feb. 25 -- They worked together in the 2002 comedy, Chor Machay Mach Shor. Now, a decade later, actors Bipasha Basu and Shilpa Shetty are coming together for a completely different reason. On March 11, Super Fight Leagu (SFL) owned by Shilpa's hubby Raj Kundra, and Sanjay Dutt kicks off with a glitzy ceremony.
And thanks to Shilpa, Bips has been roped in for a glamorous performance at the performance at the event. "I think Bipasha is a fantastic performer and fits the bill for the opening ceremony really well. It's a creative call that my wife (Shilpa) took and I absoluteagree with her," says Raj, whose latest venture, SFL aims at popularising Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the country.
Besides Bipasha, celebrated percussionist Sivamani is also expected to perform at the function. Although Bipasha is yet to finalise the songs she will perform to, it's likely to be a medley of about 10 minutes with all her fast peppy numbers including 'Beedi jalaile...', 'Billo rani...' and the recent Jodi Breakers track, 'Bipasha...'. "Since SFL is a high adrenaline sport, we wanted someone with a good body, who could move well (on the stage) and is synonymous with fitness. So, Shilpa suggested we ask Bipasha, since they are good friends too," adds Raj, who is "very confident" about the success of SFL in India.
Shilpa, who is pregnant with her first baby, is also expected to be present at the inaugural ceremony, where Dutt, who is an equity partner in the venture, will also be among the attendees. "I am not worried about the red carpet. It's going to be a 'Filmfare' of wrestling," laughs Raj. "I think between Shilpa, Sanjay and Me, we are going to take care of it. The idea is to give audiences a complete entertainment experience under one roof." Post its launch, SFL will also have events in April and May
