Mumbai, April 7 -- Hrithik Roshan is back in his smokin' hot avatar. After playing the portly Ethan Mascarenhas in Guzaarish (2010), he is now set to flaunt super-toned abs and rippling muscles in Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara (ZMND) as is revealed in the film's first look.
Hrithik's new look hasn't come easily especially after Guzaarish for which he had gained a lot of weight to play a paraplegic. Hrithik worked out for two-and-a-half hours every day to get back his chiselled looks.
Hrithik, who wrapped up all his sequences and photo shoots with the new look in about 4-5 days in Spain, had considerably cut down on his water and salt intake and was on a low-carb diet to get back his sculpted body. Incidentally, he didn't take any help from trainers in Spain while working out.
ZMND co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani says, "Hrithik has always been very passionate about his physique, so it wasn't difficult for us to get him back in a lean avatar. He has always been associated with a stylish body. We have gone ahead to present Duggu in a bare-bodied avatar since people love him and identify with it."
For ZMND, Hrithik especially did weight training for an extra 30 minutes every day, as opposed to his usual two-hour daily workout session. Since he was constantly gaining and losing weight for Guzaarish, Hrithik was keen to sport a completely toned look for Zoya's film.
According to Ritesh, Hrithik's physique in the first look is similar to how he was portrayed in Dhoom 2. "If people are happy to see Hrithik in such a look, I am happy for my film as a producer."
ZMND is about a fun-filled road trip. It also stars Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koelchin.
Coming back to Hrithik's physique, the actor has been famous for his chiselled look over the years. In Jodhaa Akbar (2008), he had wowed his fans with a shirtless sword-practising scene. Hrithik had also flaunted his body in Dhoom 2 (2006) only to surprise everyone by gaining weight, thanks to loads of junk food and no workouts, for Guzaarish. But it's back to punishing gym routines and healthy diet for the actor. At least for now.
