He is a known as Khiladi Kumar. And Akshay is in no mood to let anything come between him and his daredevil stunts. That’s why he flew to Germany for a back rehabilitation program as soon as he got some days off from the Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 schedule. “Akshay is doing a lot of action films and the audience also loves him in that avatar, so he doesn’t want to take any chances. Also, since 2013 is going to be packed with action films, he has decided to go in for a back rehab program,” says an insider close to the actor. Akshay’s line-up for next year includes films like the Thuppaki remake with AR Murugadoss, Neeraj Pandey’s Special Chhabis, Anthony D’Souza’s Boss and the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-produced Ramanna remake. “And considering his love for action and zeal to do all the stunts himself, he is fully focused on the program,” adds the insider.
In January this year, Akshay had gone to Germany for some back treatment after spraining it while working on an action sequence in Rowdy Rathore. Although he completed the schedule, he was still in pain. He was advised a special water therapy available only in Germany. His wife, Twinkle Khanna, had accompanied him. “This time, Akshay has gone without Twinkle since she has to take care of their newborn, Nitara,” adds the insider. Akshay is likely to be back in a couple of days.
