Ex-Boyfriend of Erica Mena Was 32; Cliff Dixon Dies in Shooting

Last year, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Erica Mena and then-boyfriend Cliff Dixon ended their relationship.
Tragically, Cliff Dixon has now died after being shot multiple times by an unidentified gunman.
He had just turned 32 earlier this month.
TMZ reports that Cliff Dixon has died after being shot.
Erica Mena's ex was out in Atlanta, celebrating his birthday -- the actual date of which fell on March 17.
According to initial statements by law enforcement sources, Dixon was partying at SL Lounge.
This is when a lone gunman allegedly opened fire in front of the club.
This all went down, TMZ reports, at about 1am on Thursday.
It was not initially clear to police whether Dixon was targeted.
But he was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital after being shot, and pronounced dead.
According to the incident report, there was an officer who witnessed the shooting go down from within his patrol car.
TMZ reports that the officer describes seeing "a black male wearing all black with a black skull cap" begin shooting.
The man apparently evaded pursuit and got away, but law enforcement is hoping to catch him.
Police followed up by clarifying that Cliff Dixon had only just arrived at SL Lounge.
Dixon was still standing in the parking lot when the gunman opened fire, shooting him multiple times.
Law enforcement has yet to specify where exactly Dixon was hit by the bullets, but we know that the wounds were fatal.
Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
In addition to his past relationship with Erica Mena, Dixon was also close personal friends with Kevin Durant.
The two grew up playing basketball together outside of Washington DC.
Since her breakup with Dixon, Erica Mena has begun dating and even become engaged to Safaree Samuels.
She has made multiple posts on social media, sharing her grief at Dixon's death.
"We all deal with so much. You dealt with a lot," Erica's mournful post begins.
She continues: "I'm so sorry this happened, you didn't deserve this."
"Rest in forever peace," she expresses.
"Watch over your blood sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and your mommy," Erica continues as she grieves.
She affirms: "I know they are so broken right now."
Erica also added a follow-up post.
"Please love me while I'm still here," she writes. "Nothing is promised. Appreciate life."
The sudden death of a loved one can be a grim reminder to us all about how precarious life can be.
Their relationship had initially lasted 10 months, but did not end well.
In October of 2018, the two got into a heated argument that turned into a fight.
Allegedly, Dixon knocked down a door to try to get to her -- though the door actually led to someone else, who may have been the one to call 911.
But that toxic relationship ended, and it seems clear that Erica is mourning her ex as much as anyone else who knew him well.
This is a heartbreaking situation.
Everyone wants the gunman found -- and everyone wants some sort of answer as to why this senseless tragedy occurred.
