Mumbai, Feb. 23 -- February 27 is an important day for the Roshans. Sussanne will be opening her designer store and actor-hubby Hrithik is doing his bit to ensure that the launch is a huge success.
Sussanne, known for her interior decoration skills, has given many a home her signature touch. And turned her own three-storey apartment into a dream home. Now, she will open her flagship store that's been in the works since early last year.
The location is a sprawling address on Andheri's Link Road, with every item from French antique furniture and soft furnishings to installations, table linen, dinnerware, limited edition photo-art and accent pieces personally picked by Sussanne herself.
"The store carries her own line of furniture along with lines exclusively designed for it by other talents. Everything is curated by Sussanne and reflects her sensibility and taste," reveals a friend. Everything about the store, including its name, is being kept under wraps until the opening on Sunday. The who's who of the city are expected to be present at the opening.
Though Shah Rukh Khan is away in Malaysia for the outdoor schedule of Don 2, his wife has confirmed her presence. Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Rani Mukherji, Shilpa Shetty, Fardeen and Natasha Khan, Zayed and Malaika Khan, among many others are believed to have confirmed their attendance.
Sussanne has an Associate of Arts Degree in Interior Design from Brooks College in Long Beach, California. She first started working with mother Zarine in her interiors firm. Later, she went independent as a full-fledged interior designer. Some of the movie stars whose homes Sussanne has designed are Rani Mukerji, Priyanka Chopra, Fardeen Khan and Shilpa Shetty. In fact, she has done up all of Shetty's new homes, including her Mumbai residence in Juhu and the one located in the plush Burj Khalifa, Dubai.
When contacted, Sussanne said, "My store aspires to influence all the victims of a curious mind, to stretch the concept of design to another level. Building homes is a process to be enjoyed by everyone. Here we welcome you to dare to dream beyond the limits of the ordinary and to enjoy living."
