Texas Cheeseburgers - Hot recipes

Roasted poblano peppers and chili powder bring spice to these beefy grilled burgers.

Ingredients

 
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
2 large poblano peppers, roasted, seeded, and chopped
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef
8 ounces Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeno peppers or Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
4 large hamburger buns
Assorted condiments

Directions

1. Mix the onion, poblano peppers, chili powder, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl; add ground meat and mix well. Shape mixture into 4 patties about 3/4-inch thick. Place on a tray; cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.

2. Place patties on the lightly oiled rack of the grill directly over medium heat. Grill for 14 to 18 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer inserted in centers registers 160 degree F, turning burgers once. Top burgers with shredded cheese during the last 1 minute of grilling.

3. Toast hamburger buns on grill rack, cut sides down, about 1 minute or until lightly toasted. Serve burgers on buns with desired assorted condiments. Makes 4 burgers.

To roast poblano peppers, heat oven to 425 degree F. Halve peppers lengthwise; remove seeds and membranes. Roast peppers, cut side down, on foil-lined baking sheet for 20 minutes or until skins are dark. Wrap in foil; let stand 20 minutes. Peel.

Ingredients (serves 4)

2/3 cup vegetable stock
1/3 cup reduced-salt soy sauce
1/4 cup oyster sauce
2 garlic cloves, crushed
olive oil cooking spray
1 red onion, cut into thin wedges
200g shiitake mushrooms, thickly sliced
200g oyster mushrooms, thickly sliced
1 bunch broccolini, trimmed, cut into 3cm lengths
4 eggs
4 eggwhites
60g baby spinach, to serve

Method

• Combine stock, soy sauce, oyster sauce and garlic in a jug. Heat a wok over mediumhigh heat. Spray onion with oil. Stir-fry for 1 minute. Spray mushrooms with oil. Stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add broccolini. Stir-fry for 1 minute.
• Add stock mixture to wok. Stirfry for 2 minutes or until mixture boils and broccolini is tender. Remove from heat. Set aside.
• Whisk eggs and eggwhites in a large jug. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Spray with oil. Add half the egg mixture and swirl to coat base. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until base of omelette is golden. Turn and cook for 1 minute. Slide onto a chopping board. Repeat with remaining egg mixture. Cut omelettes in half.
• Place omelette halves on plates. Top with spinach leaves and broccolini mixture. Fold over to enclose filling. Serve.

Ingredients (serves 8)

 
2 eggs, separated
1/4 cup caster sugar
250g mascarpone cheese
300ml thickened cream
300g plain sponge cake
1 cup strong espresso coffee, cooled
1 cup Bailey's Irish Cream liqueur
250g strawberries, hulled, diced
125g fresh or frozen blueberries
125g fresh or frozen raspberries

Method

• Using an electric hand mixer, beat egg yolks and sugar together in a large bowl until pale and creamy. Fold in mascarpone. Wash and dry beaters. Whip cream to firm peaks. Fold into mascarpone mixture.
• Wash and dry beaters. Beat eggwhites until stiff peaks form. Fold into mascarpone mixture. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
• Cut cake into 1cm cubes. Combine coffee and liqueur together in a jug. Combine strawberries, blueberries and raspberries in a bowl.
• Place 4 cake pieces in the bases of eight 1-cup capacity glasses. Pour 25ml of coffee mixture over each. Use a spoon to press cake into base. Top with 2 tablespoons of mascarpone mixture and 1 heaped tablespoon of berries. Repeat layers with remaining cake, coffee mixture, mascarpone mixture and berries. Cover. Refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight. Serve.

Meatball korma curry - Hot recipes

Here's a freeze-ahead dish that combines two family favourites - korma curry and meatballs. Not only is it a winner for feeding the kids, but it's right on budget at only $4 per serve.

Preparation Time

Cooking Time

Ingredients (serves 6)

800g lamb mince

1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander

80g (1/3 cup) korma curry paste

2 1/2 tsp finely grated fresh ginger

1/2 tsp salt

1 tbs vegetable oil

1 brown onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

400g can diced tomatoes

400ml can coconut milk

2 dried bay leaves

1 cinnamon stick, broken in half

Steamed rice, to serve

Method

•  Place the mince, half the coriander, 1 1/2 tablespoons curry paste, 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger and the salt in a large bowl. Season with pepper. Mix until well combined. Roll tablespoonfuls of the mixture into balls.
• Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Cook half the meatballs, turning occasionally, for 5 minutes or until browned. Transfer to a plate. Repeat with remaining meatballs.
• Add the onion to the wok and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 minutes or until golden. Add the garlic and remaining ginger, and cook for 1 minute or until aromatic. Add the remaining curry paste and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add the tomato, coconut milk, bay leaves and cinnamon. Reduce heat to low. Add the meatballs and cook, stirring occasionally, for 25 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through. Stir in the remaining coriander. Discard cinnamon. Serve with rice.

Notes


Cooking tips: Wet your hands when shaping the mixture so it doesn't stick to your hands.

Occasionally stir the ingredients in the wok so they don't stick to the base and burn.

Brown the meatballs to seal in the flavour then return to the wok with the curry to finish cooking.

Make-ahead tips: To freeze: After cooking, set aside to cool to room temperature. Transfer to a large airtight container or divide between small containers. Place in the fridge to chill. Label, date and freeze for up to 3 months.

To thaw: Thaw overnight in the fridge.

To reheat: Reheat the curry in a large saucepan over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.

While this sort of liquid diet or all one food diet is a popular idea of what cleansing is about, the truth is you can do a 7 day cleansing diet that involves more food than you might expect. The important thing is that you only eat certain types of food to help clean out your body.

7 Day Cleansing Diet

There are different ways to approach a cleansing diet. Some people like to detox by drinking only freshly squeezed fruit juices and filtered water for the duration of the cleanse, which is more like a fad diet, while others say that a seven day cleansing diet is all about cutting out the processed foods and meat and eating only certain kinds of foods for a week. The latter is a much more reasonable and balanced way of dieting. The important thing is that you only eat certain types of food to help clean out your body and do not starve yourself or this will not give results.

It is very important to have lots of water and if possible fruit juices during the 7 day cleansing diet plan. On the first two days, it is generally advised to fast, that is only have water or at the most some freshly squeezed fruit juice. From the third day you can include foods. Foods that are allowed include organic raw fruit and vegetables, steamed or stir-fry vegetables and brown rice. Preferably, stir-fry vegetables should only be cooked in virgin olive oil or sesame oil. Herbs and spices can be added.

You can eat as many of these food items as you like and as often as you like. Be sure to eat lots of green vegetables, such as spinach, broccoli, celery, kale, chard and beet greens, and also be sure to have some fruit each day. If you still find this menu restrictive, then gluten free cereals and frozen rice waffles that contain no artificial flavors or refined sugars can be added.

Tips for 7 Day Cleansing Diet

The following are a few diet tips that must be followed during the duration of the cleanse.

• Avoid all meat, fish and dairy products. It is also advised to avoid tofu, other meat alternatives and beans.

• Do not eat any processed foods or simple carbohydrates.

• It is advised to stick as much as possible to raw, Organic Fruits and vegetables as the main constituent of your food.

• Make sure the juice that you have is freshly squeezed and not from a bottle.

• In cooked foods, brown rice is the best option. It is a healthy fiber filled food that will help you feel fuller.

• When you come out of the diet, don’t go back immediately to eating as you used to. Start by gradually adding in more cooked foods. After a week or so of transitioning back to a more regular diet, you should be able to start eating more meat and processed foods again.

• Though some experts believe that a detox diet is not very effective, other researchers do agree that when not taken to extremes of fasting, the 7 day cleansing diet is healthy and beneficial.

Tearful throughout her emotional, gracious speech, the pregnant star, 29, seemingly forgot no one who helped her on Black Swan and throughout her Hollywood career, which began when she was 11.


"I truly, sincerely wish the award was to work with my fellow nominees," Portman gushed of Jennifer Lawrence, Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman and Michelle Williams. "I'm so in awe of you."

The star thanked her parents Avi and Shelley "for giving me life and for giving me the opportunity to work...[For teaching me] how to be a good human being by example."


And, no, she didn't forget Benjamin Millepied, her fiance and father of her unborn child. She thanked "my beautiful love" Millepied, 33, a star ballet dancer and Black Swan's choreographer. "[He] has now given me my most important role of my life," said the expectant mom.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Cee Lo Green, Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler. With pop stars, R&B singers and long-haired rockers galore at parties following the Academy Awards, the glam festivities felt more like the Grammys than Hollywood's biggest night honoring film.


At Vanity Fair's packed, exclusive bash at West Hollywood's Sunset Tower Hotel, just one of several soirees Sunday, A-list musicians mingled with Oscar nominees and winners from one corner of the room to the other.

A just-turned-17-year-old Bieber, wearing all black and sporting a new, shorter haircut, showed off his affection for Disney actress Selena Gomez. The pair snuggled in a patio booth, holding hands, then later bear-hugged 14-year-old "True Grit" best supporting actress nominee Hailee Steinfeld. Teen singing sensation Bieber clutched his iPhone, which depicted a photo of him with Gomez as its home screen, as they ran out of the party before midnight.

Close by, country-pop star Taylor Swift, statuesque in a sparkling Zuhair Murad mini dress, kept close to friend and actress Emma Stone. Swift later stole away to meet up with Jake Gyllenhaal, who she has been linked to in the past. The two spoke in hushed tones by the women's restroom. Swift left the party alone.

By the time "Black Swan" actress Natalie Portman arrived with her best actress Oscar statuette in one hand, and her fiance Benjamin Millepied gripping the other, the party was in full swing. Accepting congratulations left and right, a tired but happy looking Portman, pregnant with her first child, left after only 20 minutes.

Celebrity guests sipped champagne, and chomped on modest fare, from In-N-Out burgers to mini churros and Krispy Kreme donut holes. The Rolling Stones' Jagger text messaged off to the side while Aerosmith singer turned new "American Idol" judge Tyler chatted with snowboarder Shaun White, both of them sporting their customary shaggy manes of hair. Famed full-bearded music producer Rick Rubin hung out near DJ and singer Moby.

Rapper 50 Cent wove throughout the party, as did half the cast of music-filled TV show "Glee." Comics Larry David and Sacha Baron Cohen joked together while Kevin Spacey laughed with Jimmy Kimmel. Charlize Theron joyfully hugged best supporting actor nominee Jeremy Renner.

"I just did the Oscars with him, and I'm in love with him," Oscar host Anne Hathaway jokingly gushed about cohost James Franco to another guest while in line for the bathroom.

Also while in the bathroom, stylish actress Eva Mendes wasn't too uptight to adjust a friend's dress, or remark while looking at herself in the mirror, "It looks like a dead animal crawled up my nose!"

Other celebrity attendees included Jennifer Hudson, Hugh Jackman, Donald Trump, Charlize Theron, Jeremy Renner, Michelle Williams, Amy Adams and Gwyneth Paltrow, who waved to screaming fans outside and shouted "I love you too!" as she left in her limo.

A short drive away, at the Elton John AIDS Foundation's 19th annual Oscar viewing dinner and after-party at the Pacific Design Center's tented courtyard, musicians also came together with movie and TV stars to eat, drink, schmooze and participate in the night's big auction to raise money for AIDS research.

Guests including singers Green, Tyler, Smokey Robinson, Seal, Rufus Wainwright and Chaka Khan feasted on goat cheese soup, beets, marinated seared beef tenderloin, salad and apple tarte tatin at dozens of round tables sheathed in mustard-colored cloth. Jamie Foxx, Emma Roberts, Chace Crawford, John Waters and Jane Lynch also attended.

Seal and his wife Heidi Klum sat at Elton John's table, alongside "Glee" star Chris Colpher and his costar Ashley Fink. "We've been trading witty sayings with Elton," said a starry-eyed Colpher. "They're hilarious," added Fink of John and his partner David Furnish.

Kim Kardashian, conservatively classy in dark strapless J. Mendel, showed up to dinner late, as did Kelly Osbourne, who sat with her mom, Sharon. Kardashian and Osbourne toured the party together later.

Wainwright, a new father, joked about eventually swapping baby stories with John and Furnish, new dads themselves to son Zachary.

"Oh I'll bet we'll start having late-night conversations about vomiting, except we're not the ones doing it anymore," he said, grinning.

Later, John referenced his own British roots, plus British film "The King's Speech" winning best picture, when introducing British band Florence and the Machine as the night's performer. With her fiery red hair and sheer white hooded robe, belter Florence Welch looked every inch a mysterious rock star. She danced and twirled on stage while singing into a microphone decorated with red roses.

"I'm so psyched," John told the crowd. "It was a great night for the Brits at the Oscars, and it's a great night for the Brits here."

The Governor's Ball, the Academy Awards' official after-party, at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre, was the first official stop for most guests at the Oscars.

Christian Bale, Melissa Leo, Portman and other Oscar winners enjoyed a bite to eat, including veggie paella and layered cheesecake, at the Copacabana-themed bash. Other guests included Billy Crystal, Russell Brand, Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Justin Timberlake, Helen Mirren and Mark Wahlberg. Waitresses wore custom-made turquoise dresses while Tito Puente Jr. performed throughout the night.

Back at John's bash, though, Oscar-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley voiced his own preference.

"When I'm not nominated, I'd rather be here, at this party, than be in that room, at the Kodak," said Kingsley. "Here, at Elton's party, you can hopefully have a decent conversation instead of the ritualized blah blah blah.".

Charlie Sheen on His Dad Comparing Addiction to Cancer: 'Shut It!' - Hollywood News Gossips

In an interview with RadarOnline.com's Senior Executive Editor Dylan Howard on Saturday, Charlie Sheen responded to his father's comments comparing addiction to cancer, getting sober and the future of "Two and a Half Men."


"Sounds poetic but it's rooted in bullocks," said Charlie, responding to an interview his father Martin Sheen held with Sky News where he called "the disease of addiction" a "form of cancer."

Charlie proclaimed that addiction is a choice, and that he chose to free himself from addiction a couple months ago. To prove his sobriety, Charlie agreed to two drug tests conducted by Radar. He's already passed the first test and will get the results for a second, more in-depth drug test within 24 hours.

Charlie explained why he made the decision to get clean, saying, "I got bored with the other things. [It was] time to do something different, and I had this epiphanous moment of being 45 with kids, and it was time to just explore some different realities."

The Emmy winner claimed to have overcome substance abuse by himself.

"I'm not involved with AA anymore, because for 22 years I lost with AA," Charlie said.

The actor also revealed two new tattoos. One is a "C" on his right wrist that represents one of his acting heroes, George C. Scott, and a movie he did called 'Hardcore,' the other reads "Death From Above" across his stomach, which is a reference to 'Apocalypse Now,' the 1979 war film starring his father Martin.

Last week, Charlie's top-rated series "Two and a Half Men" was cancelled through the end of the season. "The Insider" received this joint statement from Warner Bros. and CBS: "Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of 'Two and a Half Men' for the remainder of the season."

"I don't know what they're talking about," said Charlie, suggesting that his condition is adequate for working. "I never missed a mark or blew a line."

The actor then dished that neither studio consulted with him before making the decision to cancel the show for the season.

"I've been treated like an unwelcome guest for eight years," Charlie complained.

Of course, Charlie isn't the only one affected by the show not shooting this season. The rest of the cast and crew were also expecting to return to work soon.

"I feel bad but it's not my fault, so I'm not going to make any apologies," said Charlie.

Charlie revealed that in his opinion the fault is with "the guy who forgot to write the [expletive] scripts." According to Charlie, the show's writing staff did not have any episodes prepared to shoot for the new season.

"Will there be a season 9?" asked Dylan Howard.

"Absolutely," said Charlie. "And it's going to be brilliant because we're going to do it differently. Watch me."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sandra Bullock was an Academy Award winner even without a trophy in hand, returning with humor and verve to the stage where she trumped as best actress last year.


That professional peak, winning for "The Blind Side," was followed days later by personal depths as allegations of infidelity surfaced against her then-husband, Jesse James.

Bullock carried on with grace as a single mom to an adopted baby and didn't look back. Ceremony co-host Anne Hathaway tipped her hat to Bullock in her introduction.

"This is a special moment for me: a chance to introduce a woman who is at the top of her craft as a performer, yet who is perhaps admired even more for who she is as a person," Hathaway said.

James, a biker-businessman and reality TV star, and Bullock had been married for five years and brought home infant Louis Bardo Bullock the month before the Oscars. He later told ABC's "Nightline" that he was the most hated man in the world for undercutting Bullock's career high with his unfaithfulness.

James became engaged last month to tattoo artist Kat Von D.

Bullock, who presented the best-actor award that went to Colin Firth for "The King's Speech," was charmingly breezy as she introduced each of the nominees.

"Jeff, dude, dude ... How much is enough? Huh? Think about it," she said to Jeff Bridges, nominated for "True Grit" after winning last year for "Crazy Heart."

Before the ceremony, Bullock — in a flaming, strapless red dress — didn't avoid the pre-show cameras.

Asked if motherhood has changed her as an actor, she replied: "It's made me a better person. I'm more patient."

The 46-year-old actress played it coy when asked about who she favored in the ceremony.

"I'm voting for me to have a really good time," she said. So, based on the warm applause she got, were her peers in the Kodak Theatre.

'The King's Speech' was crowned Best Picture of the Year at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards Sunday night in Hollywood, beating out nine other nominees: 'Black Swan,' 'The Fighter,' 'Inception,' 'The Kids Are All Right,' '127 Hours,' 'The Social Network,' 'Toy Story 3,' 'True Grit' and 'Winter's Bone.' That film's king, Colin Firth, was named Best Actor, while 'Black Swan' princess Natalie Portman was named Best Actress.


Shepherding a disjointed "History of Hollywood 101" theme throughout the lengthy show, genial co-hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco kept the proceedings pleasant, light and without bite -- the polar opposite of Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais' acerbic stint (although a Charlie Sheen joke did make it into the proceedings) -- and poked fun at their "young and hip" casting appeal "to a younger demographic."

The Best Thespians

Slightly stunned, Firth was named Best Actor for his portrayal of stammering King George VI of Britain in 'The King's Speech,' besting fellow nominees Javier Bardem, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg and James Franco. "I have a feeling my career's just peaked," joked Firth, whose thanks extended to his co-stars, "whose virtuosity made it very difficult for me to be as bad as I intended to be," as well as his wife Livia, for enduring his "fleeting delusions of royalty."

A pregnant Portman danced to the stage to cradle her Best Actress statuette for her riveting performance as a dancer on the edge in 'Black Swan,' out-pirouetting Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Williams. "I truly, sincerely wish the prize was to get to work with my fellow nominees," said Natalie. Brought to tears when she thanked her parents for "showing me every day to be a good human being by example," she also singled out her fiance and "beautiful love, Benjamin Millepied, who has now given me my most important role in life."

The Supporting Players

'The Fighter' came out swinging in the Best Supporting Actor categories, with both Christian Bale and Melissa Leo knocking out the competition. Bale bested fellow nominees John Hawkes, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and Geoffrey Rush. Declaring, "Bloody hell -- what a room full of talented and inspirational people, and what the hell am I doing here?" Bale gave a shout-out to Dicky Ecklund, the real-life pugilist he portrayed, telling the audience, "He's had a wonderful story, and I can't wait to see the next chapter," then went on to promote Dicky as a trainer and even gave out his web address. Before departing the stage, Bale got a bit choked up in thanking his wife, "my mast through our storms of life," and their daughter.

Leo bested her 'Fighter' co-star Amy Adams in addition to Helena Bonham Carter, Hailee Steinfeld and Jacki Weaver for the Best Supporting Actress statuette. Asking legendary presenter Kirk Douglas, "Will you pinch me?" Leo basked in the moment, declared, "I'm shakin' in my boots here," then accidentally dropped the F-bomb before she thanked the real-life 'Fighter' clan matron Alice Ward.

Other Awards of the Night

Underdog contender 'The Social Network' still had some Academy fans, picking up Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Original Score, while 'The King's Speech' also added Best Director and Best Original Screenplay to its crown. 'Inside Job' was named Best Documentary; Denmark's 'In A Better World' was named Best Foreign Language Film; Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design went to 'Alice in Wonderland'; 'Inception' lived the dream with accolades for Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing; 'The Wolfman' snarled up the Best Makeup statuette; and while 'Toy Story 3' did not win Best Picture of the year, it picked up the Best Animated Feature statuette in addition to Randy Newman's Best Original Song, "We Belong Together."

Melissa Leo wins supporting actress Oscar award - Hollywood News Gossips

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Melissa Leo's Oscar victory for "The Fighter" was expected. Kirk Douglas' touchingly comic presentation of the award wasn't.


The 94-year-old Douglas, aided by a cane and with his speech slowed by a 1996 stroke, took a moment to flirt with co-host Anne Hathaway before announcing the winner Sunday. "Where were you when I was making pictures?" he asked her, receiving air kisses in return.

Then he impishly delayed opening the envelope further, calling it, "The moment we've all been waiting for" several times, and adding, "I will never forget this moment."

Finally, he called Leo's name. The actress dropped to her knee before Douglas as she came on stage, and then directed Michael Douglas' father to "pinch me," which he obligingly did. "You're pretty good looking yourself, what're you doing later on?" she asked him.

Leo, who won for her role as the tough-talking mother of two boxers (Mark Wahlberg, best supporting actor winner Christian Bale), brought a bit of her character to the Oscar stage.

"When I watched Cate two years ago, it looked so (expletive) easy," Leo said, who let slip the F-word as she referred to previous winner Cate Blanchett.

Backstage, she apologized to anyone offended with the word she said was inappropriate for the occasion, adding, "There is a great deal of the English language that is in my vernacular."

David Seidler didn't let her gaffe pass when he accepted the best original screenplay for "The King's Speech."

He thanked the Queen of England "for not putting me in the Tower of London for using the Melissa Leo F-word."

Leo, who was a regular on TV's acclaimed "Homicide: Life on the Street" in her 30s, rebounded in her late 40s and now 50s with two Oscar nominations, one for "The Fighter" and another for "Frozen River" two years ago.

She was the front-runner, and her victory kept 14-year-old Hailee Steinfeld of "True Grit" from becoming the third youngest Oscar winner after 10-year-old Tatum O'Neal ("Paper Moon") and 11-year-old Anna Paquin ("The Piano").

Charlie Sheen on Canceled 'Two and a Half Men': I Hit Every Mark - Hollywood News Gossips

Charlie Sheen sat down with the "Today" show to explain his behavior that led to the cancellation of his hit show "Two and a Half Men" through the end of the season.


When asked by Jeff Rossen if he was angry that the show would not be coming back this season, Sheen responded, "Well I'm not angry, I'm passionate. It's like everybody thinks I should be begging for my job back and I'm just gonna forewarn them that it's everybody else that's going to be begging me for their job back."

Rosen followed that up by asking, "Didn't CBS have a right to shut your show down? They're reading about you partying at all hours of the night, taking drugs, abusing alcohol. It's their show."

The Emmy winner reacted, saying, "Epic. Epic behavior. No, because after reading about that, then they observe a guy hitting every mark, nailing every line, every joke, with a full house screaming." Rosen's interview with Sheen will air on NBC's "Today" on Monday, Feb. 28.

CBS came out with a statement last week explaining their decision to cancel the show, saying that it was "based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition."

Katrina no more RCB's brand ambassador - Bollywood News Gossips

Actress Katrina Kaif has stepped down as the brand ambassador of Indian Premier League team Royal Challengers Bangalore because she feels she will not be able to do justice to her responsibilities towards the team due to the IPL-4 matches clashing with her shooting schedule.

The Banglaore IPL team had extended her appointment as the brand ambassador for seasons three and four, but she is unable to continue as she would be shooting for Yash Raj Film's Mere Brother Ki Dulhan during IPL-4 beginning April 8.

The film's shooting is in Agra and, therefore, it won't be possible for her to make appearances to support the team and hence the decision to step down as brand ambassador, a press statement said.

"Katrina Kaif is a thorough professional and believes in giving her 100 percent to all her commitments. She is an avid sport's enthusiast and wanted to be present for all of the team's matches to cheer them on," said a source.

"However, since she will be shooting during IPL-4, she has decided to opt out of the Royal Challengers since she wouldn't be doing justice to them," the source added.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial debut and Katrina has teamed up with actor Imran Khan and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar in the movie.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is scheduled to release worldwide in July.
