2012 MTV Movies Awards Nominations List - Hunger Games v. Bridesmaids



It's the Hunger Games versus Bridesmaids for this year's MTV Movie Awards! The competition is on as the official nominations list just got released. These two movies are tied for their 8-total nods each, both for Movie of the Year, Best Cast, Breakthrough Performance -- for Liam Hemsworth and Melissa McCarthy, Best Female Performance -- it's Kristen Wiig and Jennifer Lawrence -- as well as Emma Watson for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Of course, Hunger Games fans should be happy to know that Josh Hutcherson got a nomination for Best Male Performance, Elizabeth Banks is included in the Best On-Screen Transformation thanks to Effie, Josh and Jennifer earned a Best Fight nod as well as a Best Kiss nomination. Also in the Best Fight category, Harry Potter gets a shout and Best Kiss gave some love to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in Breaking Dawn Part 1 AND to Rupert Grint and Emma Watson for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Bringing it back to the big winner of the night -- the golden popcorn trophy that everyone wants to take home at the MTV Movie Awards -- Movie of the Year. We already revealed that Bridesmaids and The Hunger Games got included, but also in the running for the 21st annual awards show, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, The Help and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. We want to give special shoutouts to 21 Jump Street for its 6 nods, The Help with its 4 nominations as well as Drive, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Horrible Bosses and Project X -- all movies that earned 3 category inclusions.
