Charlie Sheen Wields Machete, Declares: Free at Last! - Hollywood News Gossips

Charlie Sheen is taking his firing pretty well.

That is, if one can define "pretty well" as climbing to the rooftop of a building, wielding a machete and comparing oneself to Martin Luther King, Jr.

With Natalie Kenly by his side, Sheen waved to screaming fans and paparazzi members yesterday while standing atop the roof of concert promoter Live Nation's building in Beverly Hills. Asked how he was doing, Sheen quoted the civil rights activist and said:

"Free at last! This is the greatest day of my life."

Why was he meeting with Live Nation at all?

Because that company will soon be marketing Charlie Sheen merchandise, of course.

"Being fired has only made him more popular because he is standing up for himself," Joey Scoleri, Live Nation's Senior VP for Tour Marketing & Promotion, told E! News. "He is a folk hero."

The line of Sheen goodies will first be available online and then in stores such as Wal-Mart, Target and Hot Topic.

"We're hoping to have some of the items for sale as soon as next week," Scoleri says. "It's all coming together really quickly. He's got a lot of brilliant ideas."

This begs the question, of course: how much would you pay for a vial of tiger's blood?
